News of the engagement echoed throughout the castle. Everyone was happy about it. Well..everyone except Abbigail. She avoided Hermione and Bella and anyone who was friends with the duo. She only came out of her room to assist with potions or to eat in the great hall. The rest of the time she sat in her room. Neville was the first to congratulate Hermione on her engagement. "I always said you two made a good couple." He told her one Saturday as they sat together in the three broomsticks on their Hogsmead weekend.
"So when's the wedding?" Neville asked. "Probably this summer." Hermione replied. "Ah well I look forward to an invite." Neville replied. "Of course Nev! Everyone will be getting invited....well almost everyone." Hermione replied. "Good. I can't wait to tell Luna. She'll be excited." Neville replied. "How is Luna doing?" Hermione asked. "She's well. She and Rolf Scamander are off hunting some new creature somewhere in the jungles of South America." Neville replied. Hermione nodded as she listened to her friend.
Once they were back in the castle they parted ways heading to their rooms for the afternoon. "Miss Granger!" Hermione turned to see Snape walking towards her. "Professor?" She asked. "Have you seen Abbigail as of late?" Snape asked. "No sir. I just got back from Hogsmead. Why is she missing?" Hermione asked. "I'm not sure. I went to talk to her about teaching Mondays class while I only observed but I can't find her anywhere." Snape stated. "Let's check my rooms. She may be in her bedroom." Hermione replied.
Together they searched the rooms only to come up empty as to Abbigail. "Hmmm? Where could she be?" Snape asked. "Where could who be?" They both turned around to see Abbigail standing in the doorway. "Abbigail! I need to speak with you at once!" Snapped demanded. "Miss Granger, thank you for your help..and congratulations on the engagement." Snape added as he left with Abbigail.
