Wooing The Gryffindor

It's been two days since Hermione woke up in Bella's bed after getting back together. She sat in her office preparing for the students return in a week and she had a lot of work to get done before then. She also didn't want to spend a lot of time in her rooms either especially when Abbigail continued hitting on her. She shook her head at the thought. She was not interested in Abbigail at all. She loved Bella. She liked Abbigail sure but as a friend only. Hermione thought of someone who could date Abbigail and get her mind off her. She skimmed over her notes before a name popped into her head. "Astoria! She's not with that witch anymore....I'll owl her and invite her to come over and meet Abbigail." Hermione said out loud to herself.

She quickly wrote Astoria a note inviting her to dinner at the Three Broomsticks on Saturday. She'd bring Bella as her date and have Abbigail tag along. Yes. That will work. She sent the letter off with her new owl that Bella had purchased her for Christmas. She named her Scarlet. "Here Scarlet. Take this to Astoria Greengrass at the ministry. And don't come back without a response." Hermione instructed. The brown owl flew off through her window leaving Hermione alone once again.

A few minutes passed and Hermione was finishing up her holiday work when there was a knock on her door. She looked up to see Abbigail standing there. Hermione stared blankly at the witch as she walked into her office. "How can I help you?" Hermione asked. "You missed lunch...I thought you may be hungry...and maybe you'd like to eat with me?" Abbigail asked.

"Thanks..but Bella already had an elf bring me something." Hermione replied. "Oh...ok..I'll just leave you to whatever you're doing." Abbigail replied. "Ok! I'll see you later Abbigail." Hermione replied as Abbigail left her office sulking.
