Dalawang araw na ang nakalipas mula nang magkaroon ng pagdinig sa senado. Patuloy na ginagawa ng mga senador ang imbestigasyon at pagbuo ng hinuha patungkol sa misteryosong alkalde ng Bamban. The mayor became viral a night after video clips of the senate hearing was posted.
"My Amnesia Girl yarn?" dubbed a netizen, quoting a film starring John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga.
"Alam kasi ng China kahinaan natin (Chinitang naka-glasses)." remarked another netizen.
"Ipa-deport na 'yan!!!"
Even Risa herself posted a Facebook status, an innuendo about the mayor's suspicious birth certificate.

Tambak ng papeles ang desk ni Risa; sinisiyasat niya ng maigi ang mga dokumento habang umiinom ng kape. Habang babad sa trabaho, biglang may tumawag at napangiti ang senador.
"Hello, mare?" Ani ni Leni Robredo sa telepono.
"Oh hello mars, musta na?" Masayang pagbati naman ng senador sa matalik na kaibigan.

"Hay eto, usual stuff. Musta balita sa bago mong girlfriend?" Leni jokingly asked which earned a scoff from the latter.
Risa made a snide face at the thought of that.
"Girlfriend? I'm not aware na may girlfriend na pala ako" Risa asked, even though she knows who Leni exactly means.
Leni laughed as she continues "Si Mayor Guo~"
"Never akong magjo-jowa ng sindikato na sinungaling. Para ko na ding jinowa si ano niyan."
Leni laughed even harder at her best friend's jab at the controversial mayor. "Sino?" tanong naman nito kahit alam niya na din kung sino ang tinutukoy ng senador.
"Confidential, bawal sabihin." Risa replied and they both laughed. "Ba't ka nga ba napatawag mare? Anong chika?"
"Nangangamusta lang naman, alam kong stressed ka sa senate hearing kahit 'di mo ipahalata. I hope everything's okay Risa." Leni said at the friend; Risa smiled at her friend's affectionate gesture. "Yayain sana kita kumain, birthday ni Aika nung 12, sayang hindi kami nakapunta kasi busy. Saka gusto din na nandoon kayong mga tito at tita niya."
"Aww, cute naman. Ilang taon na ulit siya?"
"36 years old mare."
Risa smiled, 36 years old na din pala si Jessica, parang kailan lang na sa early 30s niya lang siya. Dalawang taon lang din pala yung tanda ni Alice kay Aika kung ganoon.
"Wait, why am I even thinking of her?" Risa asked herself.
"Ano, G ka ba?"
"Sure, let's go. Maka-refresh man lang sa gawain." Risa said, sighing deeply.

Mahigpit na yinakap agad ni Risa si Leni sa oras pa lang na makita niya ito. Yinakap din ni Risa ang mga anak ni Leni at nag-abot ng regalo sa panganay na anak ng dating pangalawang pangulo ng Pilipinas. Kasalukuyang na sa isang hotel-restaurant ang mag-anak na Robredo kasama ang iba pa nilang kaibigan.
The walls are decorated with antique mirrors and art, and the floors are covered in plush carpeting that feels luxurious under her feet. The room is illuminated with soft, warm lighting that warms the space and makes it inviting. The food was delicious even if it's a bit pricey (it's okay, Risa thought, hindi naman kasi siya ang magbabayad).
They all ate happily, while catching up on the recent events of their lives. They all somehow try to avoid discussing the Bamban mayor, for the sake of Risa's stress-free night, as well as to focus on Aika.
𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟
As the night came to an end, they all said their goodbyes to each other. May mga nagpa-picture na supporters ni senator Risa at pinagbigyan niya naman ito bago siya umalis at umuwi. But all of a sudden, a familiar person came into sight then disappeared into an aisle. With her iconic long black hair and square spectacles, Risa recognized the woman within an instant.
"What are you doing here, Alice Leal Guo?" Risa mumbled to herself. She politely excused herself from the people to walk down the hall she spotted Alice, and coincidentally, the latter met the senator.
"Oh, what a coincidence meeting you here Ms. Mayor." Risa greeted the mayor, but her eyes were shifted instantly to the tall man Alice was with. The man was wearing a face mask but his eyes are a clear indication that he was Chinese, or if not, Filipino-Chinese.
"Good evening po Madam senator." Alice replied, and as she noticed that the older woman was staring at her companion, she quickly hooked her arms with the senator's (which did not go unnoticed by the senator), and subtly led her away from the hallway so Risa's attention from her companion will be diverted to her. "Saan po kayo galing?" She asked as they both walked.
Risa unhooked her arms from the mayor but still walked with her side by side. She just hopes there's no whistleblower around the restaurant, or else the public will take the wrong idea.
"Kumain lang saglit kasama sila Atty. Robredo." Risa said. "Ikaw, anong ginagawa mo dito?"
Alice's eyes slightly dimmed when the senator mentioned the former Vice President's name, and if one would look closely at the mayor's face there's an emotion, almost akin to... jealousy?
"Pati ba naman po sa restaurant, i-interrogate niyo ako?" Alice faked a smile and Risa faked a laugh.
"Bakit, kinakabahan ka ba? Kung wala ka naman sigurong tinatago, I don't think there's any reason to be anxious about it..."
"Wala po akong tinatago, Madam Senator." Alice defended.
"I'm not saying na may tinatago ka, Ms. Mayor." Risa courtly replied and the younger just glared at her. "Sige, uuwi na ako. Ingat ka." Risa walked away, and with that the mayor was left alone.
How pitiful it is to love someone you should hate.
