Turn Tables

The room is filled with a sense of anticipation as the senate members prepare to begin the hearing. The air is tinged with a sense of tension and uncertainty, as the issue at hand is often an alarming one that can have far-reaching consequences for the country.

And the tension even gets more intense when the two star enemies face each other again. Mayor Alice looked at the senator with contempt, and yet she hoped; hoping that the senator will be convinced. However, Theresia looked at her with indifference, nothing more.

Nagsimula na ang pagdinig, at sa kasalukuyan ay maayos naman itong dumadaloy. Ngunit, katulad sa naunang paglilitis, butas butas ang sagot ng mayora. Tila ba ay may pinagtatakpan kaya ayaw sagutin ng diretsahan.

Nakatitig ng maigi si senador Risa habang tinatanong ang alkalde ng Bamban ng kanyang mga kapwa senador.

"Nung ikaw ay na-raid sino ang tumulong sa 'yo?" Tanong ni Jinggoy, habang ipinapahiwatig na ang mayora ay may nobyong tumulong sa kaniya nang nilusob ang POGO hub sa Tarlac.

"What a question." Risa thought to herself while giving a side glance at the undeserving senator. "Sen. Jinggoy, kung wala na po tayong tanong kay Chair. Garcia, ie-excuse na po ng komite. Maraming salamat po sa inyong pag-dalo." the senator then allows the mayor to continue.

Sen. Jinggoy and Mayor Guo shared responses regarding the mayor's involvement with a Pangasinense mayor.

"So wala kang boyfriend? Walang ka-relasyon?" Tanong ni Estrada.

"Wala po. Wala po akong boyfriend, wala po akong asawa, wala po akong ka-relasyon" Sagot naman ni Guo. "At kung meron man po akong gustong maging ka-relasyon, si madam Risa na lang po sana."

What Alice said elicited a response from the senate audience. Some of the live stream viewers commented:

"HALA BADING"

"tiBo b xA???"

"A lesbian and a spy. Purr"

"Galing mag-manipulate grabe"

Senator Risa remained nonchalant however, clearly uninterested with the mayor. "Are you attempting to flatter me, Mayor Guo?"

Jinggoy was too dumbstruck to answer the situation and silently chuckled. Mayor Guo did not respond as well and just smiled as they moved on to another question.

The rest of the hearing went well. Ginisa din ng mga tanong ni Senator Loren ang alkalde, mukha ngang paiyak na ito sa ilang saglit lang, even Risa herself felt bad. Pero deserve niya sa true lang; kung magmamatigas kang hindi sumagot ng maayos, magmamatigas din siyang magtanong.

"Hay dios ko! Grabe ang kapal ng mukha mag-sinungaling ng babae na 'yon!" Senator Loren said as soon as the hearing finished.

"Sinabi mo pa, senator Loren." Risa sighed, "Ni maka-sagot ng maayos hindi magawa. What I'm worried is halatang may mas malaki pang tao behind her. They're buying time."

Silence fell for a few minutes, they both know who could be the person behind.

"Hey, she mentioned earlier that she likes you 'di ba?" Senator Loren started.

"What about it senator?" Tanong ni Risa. Napakunot siya ng noo at tila ba'y nagkaroon ng pagbabago sa kaniyang kilos-mabuti na lamang ay hindi ito napansin ng kaniyang kapwa senador.

"May nakakita ba sa amin sa restaurant?" Tanong ni Risa sa sarili, she suddenly remembered that the mayor linked arms with her, and if the media sees it they will interpret it wrong.

"Excuse me if this is offensive ah, pero 'di ba you like girls too?"

"No offense taken, and yes, I do like girls. Why?"

"Well, I was thinking. What if we use that to our advantage?"

Napa-simangot si Risa sa mungkahi ni Senator Loren. "What are you insinuating, Senator?

"You know what I mean."

"Senator, ano 'to? Some kind of romance novel na makikita sa Wattpad?" Risa asked sarcastically, "I will never do that!"

"There's nothing wrong with some snooping about her personal life naman hindi ba?" Depensa ni Legarda.

"Senator, may sinusunod tayo na proseso. Everything about your suggestion is wrong!" Sagot naman ni Hontiveros. "Besides, the probe against Guo seems to be working. I don't think may reason pa tayo na gawin 'to."

"Kung balak niyang mag-spy, eh di mag-spy din tayo!" Senator Loren mockingly suggested.

"Senator Loren I-"

"Come on, Risa." Loren cuts her off, then continues "Date mayor Alice Guo."
