Taehyung's POV
Maya
Maya
Maya
For the past couple of days, all I could think about was Maya.
Whenever the elevator chimes at the 8th floor, I anticipate if it could be Maya, but no.
It was Wednesday, and I hurried to the parking lot. Out of habit, my eyes on their own went to the spot where Maya's car always parked and as expected, it was empty.
The emptiness of the parking spot echoed the void in my heart.
I longed to see her familiar car, to hear her voice, to feel her presence once again.
I sighed, a sense of longing washing over me. I missed her presence, her smile, her eyes. But more than that, I worried about her. Where was she? What was she going through?
The unanswered questions weighed heavily on my mind as I made my way to my own car.
In the evening, I parked the car, and my gaze instinctively drifted to the familiar spot, still empty.
I promised myself that I wouldn't intrude into her life. I believed I could easily overcome the attraction I felt for her. Yet, it proved to be much more challenging than I anticipated.
It wasn't lust.
I attempted to erase her from my thoughts. Her smile, her hair, her voice—everything about her. If I could, I would have wiped that part of my life clean. But I felt powerless.
It wasn't lust.
Stepping into the elevator, memories flooded my mind. Every shared ride, every moment spent together in this confined space. I remembered how I held my breath, how I avoided her gaze, and how she always smiled at me.
Never did I imagine that someone I barely knew would hold such significance in my life.
It's not healthy, I reminded myself, trying to quell the rising emotions.
I changed into my gym clothes and headed out for workout. After an intense session, I opened the door, and water droplets splashed onto my face. It was raining heavily outside. I closed the door immediately, feeling the chill of the rainwater.
Turning back, I saw Jungkook walking towards me. "It's raining so hard. I think we have to wait a little longer," he said, crashing into a chair with a weary sigh.
I sighed and leaned against the wall, facing Jungkook. He looked up at me, his expression thoughtful. "You should have asked for her number. Have you searched for her on Instagram?" he asked out of nowhere.
I sighed again and nodded. A knowing smile played on Jungkook's lips. "I see," he said, the implication clear. He knew I had been thinking about Maya and had tried to find her online.
The rain seemed like it was never going to stop anytime soon. I glanced at my watch; it was getting late, and I had an early day tomorrow.
"I think I'll head out. The rain won't stop for the next two hours, I guess," I said, deciding that waiting any longer wasn't an option.
Jungkook nodded, not taking his eyes off his phone. "Be careful out there," he muttered, engrossed in whatever he was looking at.
I took a deep breath and steeled myself for the downpour. Pushing the door open again, the rain hit me with full force.
I cringed as the rain hit my body, annoying the hell out of me. I cussed under my breath, using every curse word I knew, and sprinted to the convenience store.
