Maya's POV

It's been two hours since I am contemplating whether to go to the party or call Taehyung and tell him I'm sick or something, so I don't have to go. My mind keeps bouncing back and forth, unable to settle on a decision.

The thought of spending time with Taehyung is exciting, and I've been looking forward to it all week, but at the same time, the idea of walking into a party full of strangers is incredibly overwhelming.

Even though I know Taehyung will be there, there's a nagging worry that he might get caught up with his friends, leaving me alone. The possibility of standing there, feeling like an outcast, is daunting.

It's not that I have trouble getting along with people. On the contrary, I'm quite sociable and have attended plenty of parties. But those gatherings were always with familiar faces, people I knew well and felt comfortable around.

This party, however, is different. It's a new environment with new people, and the thought of it is causing a tight knot of anxiety to form in my stomach.

As I lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling, my thoughts kept swirling. Should I push myself to go and possibly have a great time with Taehyung, or should I play it safe and stay home, avoiding the potential discomfort?

The clock is ticking, and the longer I hesitate, the more anxious I become. I know I need to make a decision soon, but right now, all I can do is lie here and think about it, hoping the right choice will somehow become clear.

After another half-hour of indecision, I finally sit up and take a deep breath. The excitement of spending time with Taehyung outweighs my anxiety about the party.

I swing my legs over the edge of the bed and stand up, heading to my closet. As I sift through my clothes, I mentally prepare myself for the evening. Nothing feels quite right until I remember the black dress my sister loaned me last time.

Slipping into the dress, I feel a wave of reassurance. My sister has always had great taste, and wearing something of hers feels like having a bit of her support with me. I apply a bit of makeup, just enough to enhance my features, and take one last look in the mirror.

I grab my phone and send Taehyung a quick message,

Maya: Hey, I'm all set! Heading down now.

Almost immediately, he replies,

Taehyung: Can't wait to see you!

I smiled as I read his message. In our chats, he's a whole different person. His occasional flirty remarks always make me feel giddy like a teenager.

With a grin, I step out of my apartment and make my way down to the lobby, each step tinged with anticipation. Upon reaching the lobby, I spot Taehyung already waiting by the entrance, engrossed in his phone.

"Hey!" I greet, walking up to him.

He glances up, a radiant smile spreading across his face. "Hey, you look amazing!" he exclaims, his gaze lingering on my dress.

"Thank you," I responded, feeling a flush of warmth. "You don't look too bad yourself."

He looks absolutely stunning.

His outfit is simple, all-black, yet it gave him a divine look. He pressed his lips together, a habit I've noticed he does when he's feeling shy.

"Thanks," he said softly.

I smiled. There he goes, being shy and silent again, so different from how he is in chat. The closest he got to being like he is in chat, in person, was yesterday at the Blue Moon when he invited me to the party.
