I closed the laptop with a firm click and exhaled deeply as I shut it down. The quiet hum of the office, the faint tapping of keyboards, and the low chatter of my colleagues faded into the background as I sat back in my chair, staring at my desk. The familiar scene felt strangely foreign today.

My chest tightened as a torrent of emotions swirled inside me. It had been six months since Hoseok's wedding, six months since I'd last seen Taehyung, and six months since I got a boyfriend.

With a sigh, I stood up and began packing my things. Each item I placed into my bag felt like a memory I was taking away. My favorite coffee mug, the little notes I had pinned to my bulletin board, and everything that had its place in my journey here.

The door to my office suddenly creaked open. I glanced up, startled, to see Namjoon poking his head inside, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

"What?" I asked, my voice laced with apprehension. There was something about his expression that made me wary.

Before I could say anything else, the door swung open wider, and a group of my colleagues, my closest friends in the office, burst into the room with grins plastered across their faces. I gasped in surprise as they came in holding a cake, balloons, and streamers. The impromptu celebration was completely unexpected.

"Sent-off party begins!" Sara exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.

I laughed, despite the lump forming in my throat. They had clearly gone all out for this, and it touched me more than I could express. We spent the next hour or so laughing, eating cake, and reminiscing about the countless memories we had shared. The office, which normally felt like a place of work, had turned into a haven of warmth and friendship tonight.

As the sky outside began to darken, I knew it was time for me to leave. I looked around the room, at the smiling faces of the people who had become more like family to me over the years. My heart swelled with gratitude and sadness.

"Guys," I said, standing up and addressing everyone. "Once again, thank you so much for everything. I'll really miss you all."

The room fell quiet as everyone turned to look at me. I could feel my eyes begin to blur with unshed tears, but I forced myself to smile.

"I'll always cherish our time together," I continued, my voice a little shaky. "Don't hesitate to contact me if you need anything. I'll miss you all more than you know."

Before I could finish, Samantha rushed over and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Maya, we'll miss you too," she said, her voice thick with emotion.

As she stepped back, Hoseok moved in closer, his expression serious but kind. "We'll miss you," he said, his eyes locking onto mine. "And don't forget—if anything goes wrong, if you ever need anything, call us. We're here for you."

I nodded, trying to keep my emotions in check. "I will. Thank you, Hoseok."

"Come on, you guys are being so pessimistic!" Namjoon's voice broke through the emotional tension, his bright energy lighting up the room again. "Be happy, Maya! I know everything is going to turn out great for you."

His words brought a smile to my face, and I couldn't help but laugh a little. "Thank you, Namjoon. I'll try my best." I said, glancing around the room one last time, feeling the love and support from everyone around me.

After sharing one last hug with everyone, I walked out, telling them not to follow, and I shut the door behind me.

My phone chimed, pulling me out of my thoughts as I walked through the office hallway. I checked it, and immediately, a smile spread across my face.
