Maya's POV
I was lost in thoughts for a while, but now my focus is solely on the scenery outside as we journey down this unfamiliar road.
We've left the city behind and ventured into the countryside. Trees flank both sides of the road, their lush green leaves swaying gently in the breeze, while clusters of beautiful yellow flowers blanket the roadside, painting the landscape with vibrant hues.
As we continue, the scenery seems to change like a moving painting. The yellow flowers give way to patches of white blossoms, perhaps wild daisies or dandelions, and then to clusters of delicate bluebells. Each transformation is a delightful surprise, adding to the enchantment of the journey.
I haven't asked Taehyung yet about our destination. There's a sense of excitement in not knowing, in letting the journey unfold before me.
Above, the sky is a flawless canvas of blue, adorned with fluffy white clouds that seem to dance along with us.
We pass by fields stretching far into the horizon, dotted with grazing cattle and quaint farmhouses that add a rustic charm to the scenery. The air is fresher here, carrying the subtle scent of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass.
Unexpectedly, the car slowed down and came to a halt. I looked at Taehyung, confusion evident on my face. Peering through his side window, I saw that we were in front of a charming restaurant.
"Where are we?" I finally asked, my curiosity piqued. Taehyung smiled.
That smile is going to be my weakness.
"Are you hungry?" he asked, his tone gentle and considerate.
I sighed, relieved at the thought of food. "Yes, I am. Very much," I admitted honestly, and his smile widened.
"Let's go," he said, unbuckling his seatbelt. We stepped out of the car, and I took a moment to stretch my body, feeling the tension ease after sitting in the same position for almost two hours.
The restaurant had a quaint, village-style charm that immediately made me feel at home. It was small and cozy, perfectly blending with the serene surroundings. Chairs were arranged outside, and it overlooked a sweeping blanket of lush green grass dotted with small, vibrant flowers, creating a picturesque setting that felt like a scene straight out of a countryside postcard.
I took a seat at one of the tables, and Taehyung peered inside the restaurant through the half-open counter facing the seating area, searching for someone to take our order. His eyes scanned the empty space, but there was no staff in sight.
With a sigh, he sat down across from me. "Seems like no one is here. Should we go somewhere else?" I asked, breaking the silence. He paused, thinking it over.
"Let's wait a bit. They might not take long, I guess," he replied. I nodded, deciding to give it a few more minutes.
As we waited, I couldn't help but notice how well his off-white shirt fitted him. It hugged his frame perfectly, looking crisp and free of any wrinkles despite the sleeves being folded neatly over his elbows. The shirt accentuated his broad shoulders and lean torso, adding to his overall polished appearance.
I moved my eyes upward toward his face, only to be slightly startled to see him looking at me with a subtle frown. It seemed he had caught me staring. Maintaining my calm composure, I just smiled at him, hoping to ease any awkwardness.
To my relief, he smiled back.
That smile, though
It always caught me off guard. It was warm and genuine, with a hint of playfulness, as if he knew a secret he wasn't ready to share. His smile had a way of making me feel a certain way ever since the very first time.
