Ch15. Sleepless Night

Ealfrida lead me inside one of the empty rooms. 

"You can spend the night here" I sit down on the bed, scanning around me "Are you sure that I can spend the night here?" I kind of felt bad for spending the night here since she was living with her fiancee. 

"I don't mind and my fiancee doesn't mind either" 

Ealfrida said goodbye and left the room. I don't expect to stay the night here so this is unexpected. I don't even tell anyone that I am leaving the house earlier so I hope I am not going to get into trouble for this. I lay down, getting comfy.

I lie in bed, looking at the ceiling and the fan spinning. I'm going to take this time to bury my feelings deep down inside. I don't even know if I want to go along with Ealfrida's plan. What if it doesn't work? Then it will only hurt me. I closed my eyes, humming myself a song. 

"I will be fine tomorrow"

I picked up the plates that had our breakfast on it to the dining table. I put down the plates carefully and arranged them on the table. I have been helping Eal cook breakfast as a sign of thank you for letting me stay over at her house. 

Honestly, last night was a sleepless night for me. I can't fall asleep at all. Too many thoughts in my head that I can't seem to calm down at all. It's might be also because I wasn't comfortable at the new environment. Eal put her hand on my shoulder, snapping me back into reality "Are you okay?" she asked, peering into my face. 

I hummed, looking around "Are we the only two?" she nodded, "You know, my fiancee is very shy person so knowing there's someone else in this house makes him a bit shy to leave the room but don't worry. He doesn't mind that you are staying over at all" she ruffled my hair "I know you are the type to overthink but I am being honest right now" 

"Then.... tell him that I said thank you, okay?" she hummed, gesturing to an empty seat in front of her "Now, sit down and have breakfast" I picked up a spoon and ate the breakfast made by Ealfrida. It's no surprise that it's so good since she is such a good cook. Eal has been cooking her entire life since she had to take care of Eduart when he was a kid and ever since we meet up, Ealfrida would always cook for me too. 

She said that meals cooked with love is the most delicious food ever and I am kind of agree with it. I don't really like the food that my family would have because it's too healthy. I guess it's common for a named family like Serenity. 

I was about to take another bite of my breakfast when the front door busted open. Eduart was breathing heavily, looking straight at me "Y-your husband!" my head tilted to the side, confused "What? why are you mentioning him right now?" Eduart takes a deep breath, calming himself down "he was looking for you! He even comes to the bakery earlier" 

....WHAT?

"Why did he do that? How was he even able to find the bakery?"

"How can I know? Let's go to the bakery now" I stand up, followed by Ealfrida. We rushed out the door, running to the bakery because of what Eduart was saying. This is such a surprise. I have so many questions. Did something happen last night? Why did he come looking for me at the bakery?

I breathed out, finally arriving at the bakery. In front of the bakery, there are too many people surrounding something or someone. I cut through the crowd to see the unexpected scene. My eyes widen in shock and horror. 

Algar was standing face to face with Eiser. He was glaring at Eiser who watching him with a poker face. I rushed forward without thinking, grabbing onto Algar's forearm "What are you doing here? I told you, don't come here"
