Third Person POV

It was already late in the evening. Eiser looked down at his wristwatch, wondering when she would show up.

After a while, someone approached the table. It was Y/n's grandmother. Eiser stands up, bowing his head at the older woman who she just brushed off the gesture. "No need for all the formality. I am your grandmother now too"  she smiles, politically.

"How are you doing nowadays?" she asked, sipping on the tea.

"I am doing well" Eiser answered.

"What about my granddaughter?" she asked, looking straight into Eiser's eyes "I hope she is doing well" she added again. Eiser hummed, "She is doing well. Don't worry" Eiser tries to reassure the older woman. She smiles "I am glad if that's so," she said, putting down the teacup. "I don't expect her to marry, you know that right?" Eiser hummed and leaned against the chair.

"We both know that facts," Eiser said, coldly hiding the fact that just mentioning her name aches his heart.

The grandmother smiled, "but I am glad she did," she said, looking at Eiser fondly. I have known you since you were a child. I know how your life was growing up, and I know my grandchildren." Eiser couldn't help but stare at her back, wondering where she was going with this monologue.

"You two will depend on each other a lot, trust me"

"I get what you are saying but why are you saying these kinds of things?" Iansa finally looked at Eiser with a more serious expression

"I want you to protect Y/n with all your might" he looked puzzled at the sudden instruction.

"Why? is there a reason for it?"

"......Y/n in danger. I can't tell you right now but that's the truth. I don't trust anyone else to protect her"

Eiser looked deep in thought at what Iansa Serenity was saying. "You don't have to think hard about all these things just keep an eye out for my granddaughter. That's all the favor I want to ask you today" Iansa looked at her secretary before he held out an envelope. Iansa put the envelope in front of Eiser "I will give you more later"

Eiser pushed the envelope back to Iansa "I did not need this. Just keep it" his whole demeanor changed.  "About what you are saying. I had no doubts that Y/n could protect herself but as her husband, it's my duty to keep her safe. You shouldn't worry, I will take care of her"

Iansa hummed, smiling "I am glad things happen the way it is happening. You wouldn't believe how glad I am that you were the person who married Y/n" she chuckled, "even though my granddaughter might think of you as a way to escape the judgment of her parents" Eiser looked at Iansa, with raised eyebrows.

"What do you mean?"

".... Y/n aren't like the daughter my daughter and son-in-law expected. She didn't like to obey the strict rules they had so at times, it was overwhelming for her. I feel bad for not being able to do anything about that despite me, being...the closest family member to her....." she looked at the teacup, before continuing "Despite that, they love Y/n. It's just.....they don't show it that much" Iansa looked back at Eiser, "I know you two married out of love but I don't wish to see you two being miserable"

-Y/n POV-

I looked at the proud creation of pastries that I made with the help of my two best friends.

"I am pretty sure they will sold," I said, proudly. Ealfrida hit my back "Don't be too arrogant and hurry to help us out. There are too many people outside" she said, lifting up the trays of my baked pastries before rushing outside the kitchen. Eduart who had been standing next to me the whole time chuckled "She really kills the vibes" he said, glancing at me "You did great with the bread. I am impressed" he added, picking up another tray of bread and leaving the kitchen. I grinned, proud of myself.
