"You met her, didn't you?"
Damion turned to Eva waho stood in front of the open door. How long had she been there?
He moved to his desk. "It was necessary."
"Sure it was. I'm just a little shocked. You made such a fuss about Ashton. Doesn't seem right to me." Eva said, walking into the room.
"When has my actions ever seemed right to you?"
"True. But still. Wasn't keeping the distance your suggestion?" She placed both her hands on the table.
Damion sighed and rubbed his forehead. "We both know we met her for different reasons." He said, closing his eyes and plopping his legs on the desk.
"You're shutting this conversation again." Eva stated.
"And I thought by now you'll be smart enough to know I don't want to have it." He replied.
Eva frowned. "You can't keep avoiding reality."
"We both know I'm not."
He heard her sigh. "You're loosing it Damion. The last straws of your existence is slipping away. I'd say this is perfect timing. Why can't you see that?"
"Eva." He drawled.
"Fine." She said and stormed out, slamming the door behind her.
Damion opened his eyes and stared at the door. He had once decided he'd do anything to regain himself. And he was going to do just that. And on his terms.
Seconds later, the door opened and Rio walked in.
"You had another argument?" He asked, staring out the door. He closed it and walked towards Damion.
"What do you want?"
Rio almost rolled his eyes.
"Not much" He said, sitting on Damion's desk but Damion pushed him off with his legs. Rio stood up, glaring at him. "I don't want anything. But someone else certainly does. Sheila wants to speak with you."
"You didn't"
"Don't worry, I didn't bring her here. I'd be dead before I do." He smiled. "But she seems desperate."
"She always is." Damion closed his eyes.
Rio studied his features. His hair had lost it's shine and these days, he was seeing signs of aging. Tiredness hung on his features like a shadow and for a moment, he feared he'd lose him. What if he couldn't come out of this?
"Quit ogling me Rio."
"In your dreams."
"Where is she?" Damion suddenly asked, opening his eyes.
"Who? Right. Dinvia. She's investigating some fire case. She thinks is related to the plague." Rio said. Then he leaned against the desk, a smile playing on his lips,"I still can't believe she did that. It's rather surprising. I think she's more powerful than the credits given." Rio added.
"No kidding." Damion stood up. "How long has Sheila been in Dinvia?"
"A few days. She seeked an audience with the king. Now, she's left with more suspicions about the man." Rio said. "I've been waiting for her to resort to a disturbance to get you to meet her. She's done nothing."
Of course she wouldn't. Not after what happened.

"You look like wagons ran over you." Ander said the moment Eretria walked into the garden.
