Move

Life has been well for Yumi. She passed her final exams with confidence. Her cats are all and well. Healthy as well - based on the veterinarian they go to - not to add the fact that everything was simply going the way she wanted it to. She wasn't facing any problems and things were going well even in the space.

When school has finally finished for the year, she can't help but want to spend her entire summer at the space. Unfortunately, she failed to spend a lot of time in the space that year due to priorities and responsibilities she has as a seventeen-year-old teen.

Ahn Yumi was a person that would prefer if things followed her schedule and plans but she wouldn't mind surprises every now and then. After all, life is indeed unpredictable. She liked pleasant surprises. After all, nobody likes unpleasant surprises.

Such as what was happening as of the moment. When she entered the front door, she froze in surprise.

"Dad!"

She called excitedly, not bothering to be embarrassed with the fact that she was literally clinging on her dad. She saw the glimpse of a phone her mom held as she filmed the scene.

Her dad was a businessman who was often not at home. It has been nearly two years since has seen her dad in real life and it explained her enthusiasm.

"You should have told me you were going home. I could have bought a gift." She said as soon as she has calmed down after a few moments of clinging and shedding happy tears on her father.

"My little girl's all grown up now." He smiled as he stood up properly. Yumi wasn't the tallest girl meaning he had to crouch and lean down to be able to hug her. Her mom finished the recording and got up to take some of the gifts he prepared for his daughter.

Yumi smiled happily as she saw the several pieces of makeup from her favorite brand. The carvings of the flowers on the makeup and the details were so pretty and elegant. "Thank you." She said happily.

"You still have that necklace?" Her dad asked, pointing towards the garnet necklace.

Her mom chuckled. "Never removed them. I'm slowly starting to think she has a boyfriend." She teased.

"Hari, stop teasing your daughter."

"You act as if you don't do it so much worse than I do, Taemoo."

That evening, the house was filled with happiness and laughter as her father cooked them dinner. "I missed your cooking." Yumi admitted.

Hari raised a brow at that. "Are you implying I don't cook well?"

Yumi shook her head, denying the accusation. "I'm just saying that you two have different cooking styles and signature dishes. For example, dad's cooking style is mostly western while yours is more Korean. For example, your best dish is fried chicken and dad's is pasta." She elaborated.

The couple chuckled. Hari just shook her head, smiling in adoration as she stood up and fetched something to drink. As soon as Taemoo finished cooking, he served them a beautiful amount and sat down as well.

Once they were halfway done eating, Hari cleared her throat. "Yumi, dear. I think you should start packing."

Yumi froze. "I know you've been watching those American movies, mom. But are you telling me to move out-"
