Hold Me

The sky thundered and lightning lit up the dark and unending void. The noise getting louder and louder as the lightning became brighter and brighter with every step that she took towards the place. It was an odd melancholy feeling taking the same path which once was lingered with his scent that no longer existed.

The atmosphere became heavier as the familiar building came to light. As expected, the place was lit up. It was in contrast to the dark and gloomy place she visited just a few days back. She could see people entering and leaving. Yet, she was still so far to see the people who was leaving. Her heart and mind keep arguing about her decision, yet it was too late to change it.

Small rain drops began to pour yet Yumi can't find it in herself to care. It was a good thing she did not get a perm. The last thing she wants is to repeat Jeonghan's mistake when he showered after getting a perm and messed everything up in the end. Yumi was merely distracting herself from her nerves that threatened to shake.

The wind brushed against her. The chilly air giving her goosebumps. Raindrops falling became progressively bigger and faster, already turning into a rainfall as every second passed.

She took another step closer. As she did, a familiar silhouette came into view.

As their eyes met each other, the rain poured.

The dark night wasn't a problem when their eyes are all too accustomed to find each other amidst everything. Their ring and necklace glowing in the cold dark night. Nobody dared to move and break the trance they were both trapped in.

Yumi's hair began to get wet. Her clothes getting filled with moisture. But she did not dare to think of those when finally, after almost a decade, she has seen him.

Under the same sky, same place, and hopefully, with same hearts.

"Red?"

It was merely a whisper. A quiet hush against the harsh rustling of wind and noisy rainfall.

However, Yumi heard it.

With a single hush, a single whisper, a single word. She let go.

She let go of every fear and hesitation. She ran, ignoring the cold gush of wind. She ran towards his open arms. She ran until she could finally, finally feel him against her.

"Blue- Minho."

There, she finally said his name after years of longing.

"Yumi..."

Her name never felt so beautiful until he spoke it.

There has always been something about his voice. Whether it was whenever he sung, or even if he just spoke. There was this calming and comforting tone only he could make. It was something that Yumi found herself wanting more and more of it.

The rain did not bother them as they embraced each other under the moonlight.

As idols, they were so used to the spotlight. It was what they yearned for. It was what they worked hard for and what they seek to have every time they perform. They seek for the brightest spotlight, aiming for it to be targeted to them.

But at that moment, the dim light of the moon was more than enough for them.

The air was cold, the rain was more than enough to make her shiver, and her clothes were fully dampened yet the warmth his body emits was more than enough to wrap around her like a thick warm blanket.

They pulled back from their embrace. Her hands still around his neck while his arms are wrapped around her waist. The raindrops making it a little bit difficult to keep their eyes open but they couldn't bring it in themselves to bother about it.

Before Yumi could hold herself back, she leaned in and planted a peck on his lips.

Minho blinked slowly in surprise. His eyes widened and his lips lightly parted.

Yumi flustered. She just realized what she did. Removing her arms around his neck, she was about to apologize and bow when he pulled her body even closer towards him. The warmth of their bodies contrasting the cold air and rain.

She closed her eyes and let out a gasp when his lips found hers. The dance of their lips was gentle. They weren't rushed nor desperate. It was soft and filled with love.

Minho's other hand left her waist and held the side of her face. His warm palm stayed there for a while before he tilted her head the way he liked and kissed her deeply. Yumi's hand began tugging at his hair but he did not complain. If not, it only made him kiss her deeper.

If oxygen was something human didn't need, they wouldn't have parted. However, their lungs were slowly burning. The need for oxygen grew more and more and so despite not wanting to do it, they parted.

Scared and filled with desperation, she reached out to Minho again, scared of losing him once more. Body trembling as her tears fell alongside the sky as she hid on the crook of his neck.

"Shh, Precious. It's okay. I won't go. Not again." He said in a tone he would always use behind the camera. A tone he kept for his members only. Perhaps it was one of the reasons why he was called mean and cold.

"I'm sorry for leaving. I wasn't planning to- fuck I'm sorry Min." She apologized several times, still holding unto him. "I should have been more interested in idols. If I was, then there's a possibility that I would have met you sooner."

"But it wouldn't be dramatic, wouldn't it?" He teased her. The rain was slowing down but it was still pouring. Just a light rainfall compared to how it was a few minutes ago. "It doesn't matter now, Yumi. We have each other now."

Words felt heavy on her tongue. She couldn't find it in herself to not feel guilty. "I-" She swallowed. "I loved you. I love you. I know it might be weird seeing as we haven't known each other for the past nine years. Things have changed and all, but I don't care, Min. I love you for who you are and everything you are." She confessed for the first time in her life.

"Be mine."

She blinked and stared at his eyes. "Min, we shouldn't rush. We haven't met in nine years-"

"Be mine, Yumi. Be mine until the end of time. We can get to know each other together along the way but please, I don't think I can live another day without a certainty that your mine. Who cares what have happened in those nine years."

"Nine years, still you." Minho stared into her eyes. "Is it still me?"

Yumi let out a shaky breath. "Nine years, always have been and will always be you."
