Dance
Yumi liked dancing. She loved dancing the most. When she wasn't appointed as the main dancer of the group, she sulked a little bit but cheered up when she knew she was going to be the center and main vocalist at the same time. Being an SM vocalist was such a pride booster.
The thing is, being a great dancer meant she can easily catch up with the choreographies and can easily memorize them. That meant that the company has a great trust on her. She loved it, truly. But there are also disadvantages. Of course, not everything was sunshine and rainbows.
Such as what was currently happening. She was only given three days to practice the collab with a Stray Kids member. Normally she wouldn't mind it. She wouldn't mind it, and she would find it very easy if it weren't for the fact that she also had to perform as an Aespa member and she also had another unit dance. Her schedule was packed, and her brain could no longer separate the different choreographies.
She had more than five stages to practice and perform within a day. Talk about overwhelming and exhaustion. She was grateful enough that she only has to sing during her stage as an Aespa member. Not to add the fact that she has iron deficiency which tends to make her faint most often. It wasn't a delight at all. She was a victim to feeling like fainting every time she has to stand up. It wouldn't normally be a bother if she did not have a job like the one, she has right now.
Joys of being an idol.
'I mean, I knew what I was getting into. I wanted this. I chose this. That means I have to own up to my decisions.'
Yumi also have no time to practice with her partner. Meaning, she could only practice with the dance trainer and dance alone. The only time she can practice with her partner is for the dance rehearsal an hour before the actual performance.
"Unnie, are you okay? You've been looking unwell these days. You know we're here for you, right?" Ningning asked.
Yumi smiled at her. "Don't worry about unnie, maknae. I'm okay."
Yumi wasn't necessarily lying. Since the day she went to meet Taemin at the space, which was approximately two days ago, she has been feeling happier and lighter than she ever did. It was a small and simple interaction but meaningful enough to bring back the colors in her life.
She was still exhausted though. It did not magically remove that fact. Taemin's smile did wonders but not to that extent. Yumi wishes it could.
When she arrived towards the practice room to learn about the unit dance, she wanted to leave and bury herself to the ground.
Taemin, Kai, Taeyong, and Shotaro were present in the room.
"Kill me."
Shotaro just smiled. "Noona..." He said in a calm and gentle tone.
"I'm not even the main dancer of our group. What am I doing here. What song even are we doing." She asked several questions at once.
The four men just laughed out loud before signaling Yumi to sit with them. The woman just let out another sigh before sitting next to Taemin. She was the closest to him, after all.
"We're doing a medley about iconic kpop songs. Both from the recent releases to the old releases." Taeyoung informed.
"To be specific, songs from our entertainment. There will be other units that will perform their entertainment's songs as well." Kai added. "I know you've been told that we don't have to sing but it changed and we kinda have to?"
