"What are you listening to?" Yumi asked their maknae as she sat down next to her, leaning closer to see what she was listening to.

"This song just got released and it's already toping the charts. It's 'Limbo' by Lee Know sunbaenim."

Her world seemed to freeze as she listened to every word on the song. It was like every memory she spent with him flashed by in an instant. It came flooding as she began to reminisce. The song was like a diary he wrote.

A phone suddenly rang which broke her reverie. The ring was all Yumi needed before she grabbed her cap and glasses. "I'll be back late. Don't wait for me for dinner."

"Yumi?"

"Unnie, where are you going?"

She ignored the other voices and just hurriedly left the premises of their dormitory. It was another risky and impulsive move she made. A single photo, a single article, a single rumor about her being in that place was enough to put her career into shambles.

Not just her career, but as well as her unnies.

Every single thing felt like a blur when she passed by. It felt as if the time moved passed by too fast and at the same time too slow. She did not have any goal. For once, her head was empty.

'We're walking side by side; I did not know it would be the last.'

The lyrics flashed back in her mind. Memories replaying as if it was a broken cassette. It was all so vivid. The way she wore his hoodie as they walked side by side when they left the space. She should have seized the moment. She shouldn't have ignored him when he tried to annoy her.

'Our story was beautiful. You're the memory that's left for me.'

The thing is, if they had ended in bad terms, Yumi wouldn't feel such a wreck. She wouldn't feel regretful. She would not feel so resentful of her past actions.

But they did not.

They ended with not the best ending they could have possibly had. They ended without finishing the sentence. They ended with nothing but memories.

Maybe that's why the song ended like that.

The song finished the same way they did nine years ago. No warnings, no baby steps, just an abrupt ending that nobody has expected.

Despite the ending being like that, it made people want to listen to it more. Just like how Yumi consistently craves for the love only he could give.

For the laughter only he could create, smiles only he could show, and memories only he could be shared with.

Lee Know was an enigma to her. A few years ago, she did not even know his real name and yet she still found herself falling for him. He was a mystery who disturbed her peaceful life. He was someone who created chaos in her calm and serene routine and yet she couldn't find it in herself to get angry at him.

She could only hope the man was waiting for her as well.
