“Maybe it’s fate,” said Jung-su.

“That’s too bad for my baby sister,” responded Gof.

“Forgive me for being forward, Mr. Jung,” jung-su said. “Joey is an exceptional woman, but despite all the years that she’s spent by Mr. Jeon’s side, he still hasn’t fallen in love with her. Even if she spends the next twenty, thirty years next to him… He will never love her.”

A hint of malice flashed in Gof’s eyes as he replied, “Thanks for the reminder.”

That evening, Jungkook took the company’s managers out for dinner.

After that, Ye-Jun dragged him out for drinks.

Everyone knew that Jungkook was in a foul mood, but nobody knew the reason behind it.

Which was why they all decided to work together to get him drunk.

Once drunkenness began to show in Jungkook’s eyes, ye-Jun took his wine glass away from him.

“You haven’t said much today. Isn’t it stressful keeping everything inside?” ye-Jun said as he switched Jungkook’s wine glass out for a glass of juice.

Jungkook raised his slender fingers to his head and began to massage his temples.

“Tae wants a divorce,” he said in a low voice with his eyes slightly closed. “Am I that pathetic?”

The room froze in stunned silence.

How was it possible for anyone to think their boss was pathetic?!

Was there something wrong with Kim Taehyung’s head?

Not only was Jeon Jungkook a talented man, but he was also a master of business.

The number of people who love and admire him would line up from here all the way to the south pole!

Who did Kim Taehyung think he was to hurt him this way?!

“What do you think of Miss Kim, ye-Jun?” jung-su asked.

“He’s just an average college student,” ye-Jun responded, then changed his mind and corrected himself,” Wait, maybe not. He’s quite a looker. If Joey’s looks could kill, then Tae gives off a sweet and friendly boy-next-door vibe.”

“I’ve never met Kim Taehyung! Should we give him a call and ask him to join us?” someone suggested.

Ye-Jun glanced at Jungkook, saw that he was still massaging his temples in pain, so reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.

“I’ll get Tae to come take you home, Jungkook!” said Ye-Jun.

Jungkook’s breathing turned heavy.

He did not answer the question, so ye-Jun took it as him agreeing to the suggestion.

At the Jeon mansion, Tae was sitting at his desk, quietly making revisions to his thesis.

He was surprised when he picked up his ringing phone and saw that it was Jungkook calling.

When he answered the call, however, the voice on the other line was not Jungkook’s.

“Hello, Miss Kim. Are you busy right now?”

“I’m not… Who is it?” Tae said as s
he felt his heart tighten from anxiety. “Jungkook’s had a little too much to drink. Could you come get him?”

“Me? Doesn’t he have a bodyguard? I doubt the bodyguard is drunk, too?”

Everyone in the room was taken aback by his response.

“The bodyguard isn’t with him tonight,” Ye-Jun responded, “So, are you coming?”

Tae stood from his seat, got his coat from the closet, then said, “Send me the address. I’m on my way.”

Ye-Jun hung up the phone and sent him their location.

About forty minutes later, Tae and the driver arrived at the restaurant where Jungkook and his entourage were gathered He got out of the car and came face to face with the group of men standing at the restaurant’s entrance.

All the men looked at him.

Tae’s cheeks flushed as he subconsciously tucked his chin deeper into the collar of his coat.

Ye-joon dragged Jungkook toward him (Tae), handed him over, then said, “Miss Kim, even if you don’t love him, I hope you don’t hurt him.”

Taehyung almost lost his balance and dropped Jungkook.

“Hurt him?” he asked, bewildered. “I wish I could! I just have no idea how.”

His voice struck a nerve inside Jungkook. He shot up, turned around, and pinned him against the car.
