Chapter 81

If he could turn back time, Jungkook would not change a thing.

He was not perfect.

Taehyung's appearance in his life was what made him decide to try to critique, examine, and correct his own behavior.

If it were not for their constant fights and misunderstandings, his feelings for him would not be this deeply rooted in his heart.

Dohee caught up to Taehyung outside of the restaurant and grabbed his arm.

“I can’t believe you’re married to Jeon Jungkook, Taehyung! This is massive news!” Dohee exclaimed as her head spun from the excitement of the evening’s events.

Taehyung, on the other hand, felt like there was a lump stuck in his throat.

“You saw it yourself. He’s just messing around with me.”

“Jun said that he just wanted to help you but was too embarrassed about it,” Dohee said.

She did not think that things were that bad to warrant such a reaction from Taehyung.

“Let’s head back inside, Taehyung! We should let him explain…”

Taehyung shook off Dohee's grip. His tone was determined and cool as he said, “You go ahead! I want to be alone.”

He hailed a cab and left.

When Dohee turned to return to the restaurant, Jungkook was walking out of the building.

He took quick steps as if he had decided to chase after Taehyung.

Dohee pointed in the direction Taehyung left in and said, “He took a cab and went that way.”

Jungkook nodded in thanks, then hurried toward the parking lot.

Jun came outside right after Jungkook left.

He approached Don't with eyes filled with accusation and said, “You’re a spy!”

Dohee's cheeks were flushed, but she lifted her chin high and said, “How long have I known you? Of course, I’d be on my best friend’s side.”

“I suspect you dated me just to dig information!” Jun scoffed.

“Exactly!” Dohee said without remorse. “Now that I’ve gotten the information that I needed, we can keep this going if you want, or end things if you don’t! We haven’t known each other for long, anyway. We should go our separate ways rights now while things aren’t that serious!”

Jun took in a tortured breath. He wanted to speak, but he was afraid of saying the wrong things.

He was not quite willing to let Dohee go, but he did not want her to see how desperate he was for her.

“Don’t think about breaking up with me before Jungkook and Taehyung work things out! You have to make sure they make up,” Jun proposed. “You started this mess!”

“What does this have to do with me? I wasn’t the one who lied to her!” Dohee refused.

“Didn’t you see that he wore makeup today? He had never dressed up whenever we met. I’m sure that he did all of this for Jungkook,” theorized Jun. “They’d be just fine if you kept your mouth shut!”

Dohee was close to being convinced by his ridiculous logic.

“Jungkook treats him really well. Won’t you be touched if a man is willing to cough up all of that money to help pay off your debt?” Jun asked.

Dohee nodded and said, “I guess, but Tae isn’t an unreasonable person. I’m sure he has his own reasons for being this angry. I’m still on his side.”

Jun raised his hand and held his head.

Dohee grabbed onto his arm and said, “As my boyfriend, you should be on my side! They’re like a wolf and a sheep. Why should you feel bad for a big, bad wolf”

Jun was at a loss for words.

“I’m hungry. Let’s go eat!” Dohee said, then pulled him back into the restaurant.

Taehyung had taken the cab to his mother’s house.

He had nowhere else to go.

When Jen saw her son's pale face and dazed expression, she immediately pulled him in and sat him down on the couch.

“What’s wrong? Did you get into a fight with Jungkook?”

If it were not because of Jungkook, Taehyung would still be at the Jeon mansion no matter how bad a mood he was in, and not here at her home.
