Chapter 119The boom of a gunshot pierced through the night followed immediately by the sound of car tires coming to a screeching halt.
Taehyung felt like his eardrums were about to burst as he held tightly onto Jungkook.
Tears were streaming down his face as his body shook uncontrollably.
The tires of the black sedan had been blown up.
It had swerved and crashed into the cotton candy stand that Taehyung had purchased cotton candy from.
Jungkook had his arms wrapped around Taehyung as he watched the car from the corner of his eyes.
Someone was trying to kill him but had failed.
Then came the sound of another gunshot.
This time the gun had been pointed at the driver’s seat.
Taehyung and Jungkook were surrounded by cries of terror as people scattered and sought shelter from the danger Taehyung's skin was cold to the touch.
Jungkook cradled his face in his hands, stared at his terrified face, and said softly, “Don’t be scared. It’s over now.”
Taehyung's chest rose and fell at a frantic pace. Uncertainty flickered in hus eyes, but he kept his gaze fixed on his face.
“Jungkook… Jungkook…”
There was so much that he wanted to say, but nothing except his name escaped his lips.
“I’m fine, Taehyung.” Jungkook said with a small smile
Jungkook picked up his hand and placed his palm against his cheek, then said, “It’s warm, isn’t it?
Taehyung nodded and tears continued to stream down his face.
“I’m so scared… I don’t want you to die…”
“I’m invincible! Nobody can take my life away unless I allow them,” Jungkook said as he held his hand tightly in his. “Let’s go for ribs.”
Taehyung grabbed onto the handles of his wheelchair and quickly wheeled him into a nearby restaurant.
They had not been sitting for long before Ye-jun and the others rushed over.
“Are you okay, Jungkook?” he asked as he sat down next to Jungkook. “I knew someone was coming for you when I heard that d*mned gunshot!”
“I’m fine,” Jungkook answered. “Let’s eat.”
He picked up a piece of meat and placed it on Taehyung's plate.
He(Tae) was much more settled than he had been earlier.
“Who shot the gun?” he(tae) asked as he glanced at Jungkook.
He probably would not be having ribs here with Jungkook if someone had not blown up the tires on that black sedan. And that thought alone give chills to his spine.
“We buffed up security after Jungkook's last accident. There was a bodyguard on the roof of the building where we were eating earlier,” Ye-jun explained.
“I see…”
“You must have been terrified, Miss Kim,” Ye-jun said, then passed him a bowl of soup and said,” This will calm you down.”
“I’m not hungry.”
All of the hunger Taehyung felt earlier had escaped his body.
“I bet you aren’t.” Ye-jun chuckled, then said, “Let’s get the driver to send two home!”
Jungkook glanced over at Taehyung.
“Why are you looking at me?” Taehyung asked.
Jungkook pulled out his phone and began typing.
As Taehyung was wondering about his strange behavior, he received a text message on his phone.
He picked it up and read his text.
(Do you want to know what I wished for earlier?]
Taehyung felt like his phone was heating up in his hand!
They were sitting right across from each other, but he sent him a text?!
Be wanted to look up at him, but he was too embarrassed with all eyes on the both of them.
Taehyung: (Tell me if you want.]
Jungkook: (I wished that you would come home with me.)
Taehyung was baffled.
Jungkook: [My birthday wish is that you would come home with me.]
Jungkook thought it's enough beating around the bush. When Tae saved him it shows how much truly he cared and loved him. No person in their right mind would be ready to die for someone you don't like or care about. So he wants to try his best,it's not like he's not trying to but he'll try harder now. And it's just a baby step he thought to take,it's now or never situation to him.
