Chapter 108

Taehyung was cooped up at the library at Avonsville University after having dinner on campus.

A sudden cheer made him look up from his book.

“It’s snowing! It’s the first snow of the year! Look, it’s getting heavier! Let’s go out and play!”

“Sure! I want to take some pictures!”

Half of the people in the library left.

Taehyung walked over to the window and looked out at the snow gracefully fluttering down from the sky.

It was a beautiful scene.

It was no wonder there was a saying that you shall surely succeed if you ask someone out during the first snow.

Things of beauty put everyone in a good mood, after all.

“Your phone’s ringing!” someone said as they came up behind Taehyung and tapped him on the shoulder.

He snapped out of his daze and said, “Oh, thank you!”

He then limped his way back to his seat.

Taehyung had not gone to the hospital to get his foot treated till much later.

The swelling was so bad that it was taking a while to heal.

Even so, none of this affected his daily life.

He picked up his phone and answered the call.

After hearing what the person on the other line had to say, Taehyung's eyes lit up and his brows raised in excitement.

The wide beam on his face did not disappear even after he hung up the phone.

His luck was finally turning around.

Perhaps he had a guardian angel watching over him.

Taehyung packed his stuff, picked up his bag, and walked out of the building as fast as he could.

His phone suddenly rang again, and he picked it up without hesitation.

“It’s snowing, Taehyung! Don’t tell me you’re still in the library!” Dohee said on the other end of the line.

“Dohee! I’ve decided to go to grad school!”

“What?! What happened?” Dohee exclaimed in shock. “Didn’t you say you weren’t going? What made you change your mind so suddenly?”

Her voice was so loud that Taehyung had to pull the phone further away from his ear.

“Do you know who Professor James Hough is?”

“No idea,” replied Dohee. “Is he some bigshot professor?”

“He is! He’s my hero! I just got a call from his assistant saying that the professor wants me to study under him…” Taehyung said as he burst into tears. “This is a dream come true… I still can’t believe he picked me…”

Dohee wanted nothing but to give her best friend a big bear hug.

“I’ve always said that you were meant for great things, Taehyung! Why didn’t you believe me? You believe me now, don’t you?Where are you right now? Let’s go out and celebrate!”

Taehyung's head was spinning from all of the excitement. He wiped the tears off his face, then said, “All I want to do now is go home and sleep. I’m beat. Dinner’s on me next time!”

“Have you been having trouble sleeping?” Dohee asked. “I heard from Jun that Jungkook was discharged today. You don’t have to worry about him. He’s got plenty of people looking after him, so I’m sure he’ll recover in no time.” ,

“I know,” Taehyung responded.

It was not that he was worried about his recovery, but he was crippled by guilt.

He would not have gotten hurt if it had not been for him.

Once the phone call ended, Dohee put her phone down and looked up at Jun. “Taehyung's going to grad school,” she said with a sigh. “He’ll probably have to leave the country. I looked up that professor he was talking about and found out that he works at a medical school abroad…”

“It’s a good thing,” Jun said. “I’m sure Jungkook would give him his full support.” “What the hell is going on with him anyway? Why won’t he see Taehyung? He was the one who found him when he fell down that hill… It wasn’t like he was the one who told him to go up there. How could he be upset with him?”

Dohee could not help but stand up for her best friend.

Jun wrapped his arm around Dohee 's shoulder, and the two slowly strolled under the falling snow.
