Chapter 77
Taehyung was certain that they did not buy this necklace that morning.
How was it now right in front of him?
He walked out of his room and bumped into Jungkook who was walking down the stairs.
He tried to calm the nervousness inside of him and asked, “What’s up with this necklace?”
On the surface, it might look like this had nothing to do with him, but his instincts told him otherwise.
He was sure that yejun told him about it.
Jungkook's expression was slightly uneasy as he answered, “yejun bought it.”
After a pause, he added, “I took a look at the price, and it was too cheap. Nobody wanted it so I brought it back to you.”
Taehyung was piecing together the words in his head trying to figure out a way to return the necklace to him, but his words made his mind go blank.
He gave it to him because it was so cheap that nobody else wanted it.
Great!
If that was the case, then he will just accept it!
“Let’s have dinner together,” Jungkook called out.
Taehyung wanted to refuse, but his body was more honest than his mind was.
Perhaps it was because he had accepted a gift from him?
The two of them took their seats at the dining table.
Once Mrs. Min was done serving their dinner, she dismissed herself and walked out of the room.
Taehyung picked at his food and ate slowly.
Jungkook had taken the initiative to ask him to join him for dinner. Did that mean that he had something to say to him?
On top of that, he must have given his blessing for Yejun to buy all of those gifts for him, right?
A frenzy of thoughts bounced around in his head as the piece of meat at the end of his fork remained suspended in midair without reaching his mouth.
Jungkook noticed that he was distracted and asked, “What’s on your mind? Did Jung Gof contact you?”
Taehyung took a bite of his food and said, “Do you know him well?”
“We were classmates,” Jungkook answered calmly, then said something that took Taehyung by surprise. “Do you want to see his ex-girlfriends?”
Taehyung choked on his food and coughed violently.
He put down his knife and fork, then took a large gulp of water.
Jungkook produced a file out of nowhere and slid it across the table to his.
Taehyung glanced at the file and then turned his gaze to him. He stared deeply at him.
He found his behavior to be extremely strange.
His relationship with Gof Jung was purely one of business.
Why did he want to show him information about Gof’s exes?
He even printed out all of their details for him… His actions were beyond his comprehension.
Jungkook did not expect him to stare at him so daringly.
“Didn’t you know that he’s trying to date you?” he asked.
Taehyung's jaw dropped.
“Does he not know that I’m your wife?”
“He does, but marriages end and people cheat.”
Judging by his astonishment, Jungkook could confirm that he had no knowledge of Gof's ulterior motives.
“I see…” Taehyung said as he picked up the file and flipped through the pages. “All of his exes are so sexy! Look at those hourglass figures! They all have gorgeous full lips too. Red lipstick looks especially good on lips like that… You men’must all love women like this, huh?”
Jungkook's lips pressed into a thin line.
He had shown the file to Taehyung so that he would realize that he was not Gof Jung's cup of tea, not to discuss the matters of men and women with him.
“You said he wants to date me, but it doesn’t look like I’m his type at all. Why would he even bother?”
As Taehyung asked his question, the answer popped into his head almost immediately.
“To take revenge for his sister?”
“You’re not as dumb as I thought,” Jungkook mocked.
Taehyung glared at him and said, “Wouldn’t this ruin your relationship with him, though? With your temper, you would go after someone even if they took a grain of salt from you.”
Jungkook's face turned solemn as he said, “We haven’t had a relationship for a long time.”
“I see..” Taehyung responded, then picked up his knife and fork and continued with his meal. “So, do you know what you need to do now?” Jungkook asked.
He needed an answer from him.
“I had a meeting with the executives at the office earlier today. All of them are in favor of working with Trust Capital.”
