Chapter 68
“If you ever gamble again, I’ll cut off both of your arms myself!” Junghoon snapped through gritted teeth.
“Why are you snapping at him? He just woke up! How could it be possible for him to lose all of that money by himself? I’m sure it was that brat, Kim Sana!” lisa cried, then walked out of the room and called sana over.
Sana walked into the room, took one look at Nic on the hospital bed, and hung her head in guilt.
“Mom… Why are you blaming Sana? Someone deliberately set me up last night, or I wouldn’t have lost that much money!”
Nic's voice was weak, but he was more lucid now.
“It was Uncle Jungkook… Nobody else could have done this! He found out that I used to date Kim Taehyung and hates me to death now!”
“I know it was your uncle! He doesn’t care about you or your father!” Lisa cried hysterically. “There’s something wrong with him. He’s not normal. We shouldn’t provoke him!”
Junghoon shoved his wife aside and yelled, “What are you saying in front of an outsider?! Jungkook and I don’t get along because of our huge age gap! If your son had a backbone, Jungkook wouldn’t be able to squash him like a bug! Take a look in the mirror and figure it out for yourself! Just looking at the two of you is giving me a headache!”
He then turned and stormed out of the room.
Lisa burst into tears.
Nic felt like his head was about to explode.
“Don’t cry, Mom! It’s all my fault. I’m a closet! Why did you save me? You should have just let me die!”
“Jungkook! Don’t be like that… You might not be as business-minded as your uncle, but you’re way better than him in my eyes!”
Sana said as she held Nic's arm. “Focus on recovering, for now, then we will come up with a way to take our revenge on him! Once he’s dead, your father won’t compare you to him again!”
Nic suddenly calmed down.
Lisa's wailing also came to a halt.
“Nic, you’ve seen Tae's true colors now, right? He’s on your uncle’s side now, so you should let him go completely! We should get rid of both of them! Once they’re dead, your uncle’s fortune will be ours.”
Sana was revealing her ambitious character.
Lisa walked over and stared coldly at her, then said, “What do you bring to the table? I heard your mother took a fortune from the Kim family. Why didn’t she help out with the loan sharks last night?!”
Sana pouted and said, “It’s true that my mom is wealthy, but she’s opening a new company outside o f the country right now. By the time the business flourishes, our net worth might just surpass Jein Jungkook's! The market overseas is much more promising than it is here…”
“Don’t give me that bullsh*t! The way you two were gambling last night, you would have gone through any amount of money!”
Lisa snapped.
“We won’t do it again! Really! I swear!” Sana said, raising her hands in defeat as her eyes filled with tears. “We were just curious and decided to try it out. It won’t happen again!”
“Nic is our family’s last hope because Jungkook won’t have children,” said Lisa.
“Why is that? Is there something wrong with him?” Sana asked curiously.
“I’m not telling you anything! You’re not even my daughter-in-law yet,” Lisa said coldly. “I’ll only forgive you if you’re able to help Nic from now on.”
“I’ll do whatever it takes,” Sana said confidently. “Just you wait. I’ll show you what I’m made of.”
That evening, Joey was sitting at a high-end restaurant with a glass of red wine in her hand.
She had no appetite, and her brows furrowed as she said, “Have you lost your mind, Gof? Are you trying to break my heart by handing over that much money to Kim Taehyung? If you have too much money, then how about giving it all to me?”
Gof shook his head and said, “I can give you however much you want, Joey, but you’ve misunderstood me. Does money have anything to do with how Jeon Jungkook hurt you? He messed with your feelings, so I’m just giving him a taste of his own poison.”
“Ha… You want to try your luck with Kim Taehyung? Do you really think Jungkook would let you get away with that? He loves him.”
The more Joey thought about it, the more insane the whole thing sounded.
“Don’t get yourself mixed up in all of this, Gof. It’ll be hard on me if you become enemies with Jungkook.”
“I never got along with him anyway,” Gof said nonchalantly. “I decided to invest in Kim Industries because they’re not as bad as people think. Once I get my hands on it, I can turn the whole company around.”
Joey glared at her brother and said, “Kim Taehyung is my arch-nemesis. Are you trying to piss me off by making money for him?”
“Look on the bright side. Don’t you think he might just fall in love with me if I help him like this?”
“What if he doesn’t? Don’t get me wrong. You’re an outstanding man, but I still think Jungkook is more attractive,” Joey said as admiration washed across her face. “His assertiveness, his indifference, his self-control-.”
“Do you know how his father died?” Gof scoffed. He swirled the wine in his glass, then said,
“Jungkook killed him.”

I know in this whole chapter we didn't get TaeKook's interaction but it's somehow important as to why? Because now they're planning to k*ll both Tae And kook to get so called inheritance.... And about Gof and Joey.... Well ig they're some maniac siblings 🙄
