Casper's POV
I slowly opened my eyes to see a familiar room. The medical office. I was probably brought here after getting tased by that fucking psycho and that realisation made bile rise in my throat, so I leaned over the bedside bin and hurled the contents of my already-empty stomach. Pain washed over my back and my ass as I made any slight movement and I grimaced in agony. Tears lined the corners of my eyes and they threatened to spill - again. I managed to prop myself up against the pillow and stared out the window. It was dark.
The door opened and Doctor Hazel entered with his ironed lab coat and polished glasses. I was too ashamed of my state to even look up at his face.
"Good evening, Mr Reid. I hope you got some rest," he said with no emotion in his voice. The smile he had forced when I first met him was gone and was replaced by a serious expression. I didn't say anything as I was too afraid that my voice would crack and give away my fear.
"You've been out for a day. It's Saturday evening so you'll have tomorrow off and you've been excused from lessons until Wednesday."
"Surely you can't let someone like t-that stay here. He's dangerous." I said quietly, almost in a whisper. I looked down and a single tear hit the bedsheet and I prayed that Doctor Hazel didn't see it.
"I'm assuming you are referring to Mr Damon Crow." More tears formed at the mention of his name. "Mr Crow's family founded and funds Holloway Institution. He is above even Mr Williams, the Dean. Unfortunately, this does mean that he may do as he pleases without facing any consequences."
"T-then let me leave. I can't stay here. Not after what he did to me." I sounded like I was begging. Technically, I was. I couldn't be trapped within these gates with that beast. "I'll go back to the orphanage. Please, he'll kill me."
"I'm afraid that won't be possible." He took his glasses off and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Your wounds have been treated. You are a surprisingly tough omega and you have already begun healing. I will prescribe medication to ease your pain." He stood to leave. "I'm sorry, Mr Reid." I could hear a hint of pity in his voice. I'm sorry for me too.
I cautiously leaned back to rest, making sure my back wounds didn't rub against anything. Blood had already seeped through my bandages and painted the bed with crimson. Exhaustion overwhelmed me but I was terrified of seeing his figure in my nightmare so I stayed awake thinking and watched the sun rise.
I wanted to know how everyone else was doing. Last time I saw Leo, he was fighting a losing battle against two Blood and Moon wolves, and one of them had sliced through his arm. Other Sun wolves had also gotten themselves involved and they got tossed left and right. And Enzo. He had lost a lot of blood. He got hurt trying to save me. They all got hurt trying to save me. There was no way I was going to sit on my ass and do nothing like a sick pup.
I jumped off the bed, which was an immediate mistake because a sharp pain shot up my backside and I hunched over for a good minute until it faded and I could move again. Fucking hell. I looked at the bedside clock. 5.06am. I assumed the whole building would be quiet as it was late. Or early. I limped out of my room and looked around the dark empty hallway. A nerve-wracking thought struck me: what if HE is here looking for me? I shook my head to get rid of such thoughts and turned right. Leo and Enzo must be here too if they got hurt, right?
I smelt familiar pheromones. Both Luis and Leo's. I could smell that they weren't too far away so I made my way to the room they were in. I was still hunched over and every step I took made me wince. I stopped outside a sliding door and leaned my ear against it. I could hear multiple voices.
"He must have been taken to confinement. Where else could he be?"
"Yeah, but that's not the issue. The issue is that HE might have gone in there after him. I overheard those Blood dogs saying that he's been in a mood for a while and he vanished as soon as Casper was taken away."
