Casper's POV
I ran back to the Sun Residence and entered with my key card. I swung the door open to reveal utter destruction. All the Sun wolves were either cleaning up or helping the injured get bandaged and get back to their rooms. I spotted Leo lifting heavy furniture out of the way.
"Where's Enzo? Is he back?" I asked, worried that he was still with Ezra. Leo looked up with wide eyes and everyone around us stopped in their tracks. Leo dropped the furniture with a loud thud.
"Casper! Are you okay? What happened? Did you escape? Are you hurt anywhere?"
"Whoa, calm down. I'm fine. I didn't escape. I, uh, walked out." Physically I was fine, but mentally, I wasn't doing so well "Where's Enzo? Is he back? Damon said he'd be let go."
Leo rubbed his face. "No. A few others went after him and Ezra but those Moon bastards wouldn't let them into their residence."
"How on earth did you get out of there? There's no way Damon would let you walk out just like that. You reek of him by the way," Nikolas piped in.
"Uh, we just talked. I'm going to my room. I need to throw up." I walked off before anyone could question me further. I wasn't going to share any details of what had happened. I took the elevator up to my room and rushed to the toilet to empty the contents of my stomach. The thought of Damon made me feel dizzy so I got in bed and wrapped myself tightly with my duvet.
I fell asleep and woke up to the door slamming at 3am. A very pale-looking Enzo walked in. I noticed bruises around his neck and wrists.
"Enzo? ENZO! Are you okay? Wha-? Y-you stink of Ezra..." Oh no. He smells identical to Demon 2.0. Don't tell me...
He didn't say a word but slumped over the toilet and began throwing up. When he was done, he sat on the bathroom floor and brought his knees to his head. He started shaking as he broke into a sob and I felt a pang of guilt and sorrow. I sat next to him and let him lean on me. I wasn't sure if I could say anything to comfort him so I stayed silent.
"He's a monster," Enzo whispered. I could hear the quiver in his voice.
"I'm so sorry, Enzo. It's all my fault. If I ever get myself into another situation, don't try to help me. I can't keep watching you get hurt."
"No. You can't stop me if I want to help you." He said, wiping his tears. We stayed in silence once more.
"I really meant it when I said you're a good friend. You're the only one I've ever had."
Enzo let out a soft laugh.
I paused. "Did he, um, mark you?" I asked quietly.
He looked down and I saw tears falling off his face. That was all I needed to see to get my answer. My anger made me shake and I laughed hysterically.
"We're so screwed, aren't we? How the fuck did we manage to get the two most dangerous wolves to chase after us? This place is insane. I'm getting the fuck out of here."
"Don't even try. You can't. Especially not when the Hunt is coming up. Security is extra tight around this time of the year."
"Ugh, that stupid Hunt. Damon told me about it."
"Huh? I thought you already knew about it?"
"Nope."
"Wow. Well, it's a good thing he did. So what did he end up doing to you? You smell so strongly of him. It's like he's right next to us."
"Oh, um, nothing. I made a deal with him so that Ezra would let you go."
"Wow, you really did that for me? Was Ezra going to, um, keep me there for longer?" Enzo gulped.
