Casper's POV

I woke up with a gasp. I tried to sit up only to find that I couldn't because my hands were chained to the bed. A bed that wasn't mine. A bed that didn't look like any of the other beds at the orphanage. Holy shit - I've definitely been kidnapped. I laid back down and tried to come up with ways to escape, but the chains around my wrist put an end to that because no matter how much they rattled, they wouldn't budge.

The door to my left opened. I snapped my head towards the man holding a clipboard and wearing glasses and a lab coat. I froze in fear.

"Good morning, Mr Reid. I'm Doctor Hazel. I hope you had a good night's sleep." There was a fake smile plastered on his face. "You look like you have a few questions. I'd be happy to answer them so ask away."

"W-where am I? This doesn't look like the orphanage. And WHY AM I CHAINED? WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO ME? WHY ARE YOU SMILING LIKE THAT? LET ME OUT!" I blurted out, panting. I was scared. I started pulling at the chains again.

"Calm down Mr Reid. You are not at the orphanage anymore. We are not going to hurt you. You are in the medical office at Holloway Institution."

My blood went cold.

"Yes, your attempt to run away was unsuccessful and you were tranquilised before you could reach the gates," he smirked. "You were brought here overnight and you will be moving into your dorm room today. Since you are starting the term late, your roommate is already living in your dorm. You will be placed in the Sun Residence Hall. Leonardo has been informed and will be awaiting your arrival. Any more questions?"

"Who's Leonardo?" I slowly asked.

"He leads the Sun Pack at Holloway and he's next in line to be the Alpha of his pack."

I paused. I couldn't think of any other questions. Why couldn't I think of any questions? I had a million of them buzzing in my head a moment ago.

"I-is there anything I should be aware of here?" I had to ask since I knew that the rumours about this place were far from pleasant. I didn't mean to stutter but my tongue was in a knot and it felt foreign in my mouth.

Again, he smirked. I hated him already. "Oh, you'll learn along the way." He began unchaining me. "You will now be escorted to your dorm room. Your belongings are already there."

As soon as I was released, I rubbed at my sore wrists. I shot him a dirty look as I walked towards the door. He returned my glare with that sickeningly sweet smile.

"Pleasure meeting you, Mr Reid." I slammed the door.

A security guard in a suit grabbed my arm without saying a word and started dragging me. The hallways were dark and my heart refused to rest. I wanted to ask where we were going but I already knew the answer so I decided to stay quiet and save myself from stuttering again. We left the medical unit and once we were outside, I took a moment to observe the prison I would be at for the next year. I had to admit, the place was gorgeous. The collection of buildings was like castles that would put mansions to shame and we were surrounded by what seemed like acres and acres of endless forest. The guard's grip tightened and I winced.

"Can you not grip me so hard? I'm not going to run so let go of me." I complained and squirmed to try to get out of his hold.

He scowled and grabbed me by my collar. "Yeah, you're not going to run. Security here is unlike anywhere else and you won't get a hair length past our gates before getting your limbs ripped off. Go ahead and run. I dare you. But I promise it won't just end with a tranquiliser this time," he spat. I gulped and let him drag me off again.

After walking for a while, we stopped in front of the Sun Residence Hall. It was huge. At least five orphanages could fit inside this monstrous castle. The doors opened up to a massive stylish modern lounge. It was empty until I spotted someone lying on a sofa reading a magazine. The door slammed loudly behind me which made me realise that the guard had let go and left. The guy in the lounge looked up at me and stood with a bright smile. It was unlike the one that Doctor Hazel gave me earlier.

"Hello, Casper. I'm Leo. Leonardo Ramirez. It's nice to meet you." He's chirpy, I thought. He offered a hand and I shook it. "I'm the leader of the Sun Pack here at Holloway and you are currently standing in the shared lounge of Sun Residence Hall. All the dorm rooms are upstairs and I'm here to take you there."

I could tell Leo was an alpha. He was at least 6 ft 2 and I could see his defined muscles protruding through his plain navy shirt. His jawline could cut me. He had a very specific smell that was different from Doctor Hazel's and the guard's. I learnt before that omegas can smell alphas and alphas can smell omegas. I thought they meant the smell of sweat but I guess it's more complicated than that. Leo also had smooth tanned skin and dark neat curls. I probably looked like paper next to him, with my pale skin that hadn't seen a day of light and my blond scruffy hair. I looked away feeling embarrassed.

"Um, hi." Cat definitely got my tongue.

"Not much of a talker, huh," he laughed. "That might be a good thing here. Don't want to be messing with the wrong wolves. Us Sun wolves are okay, but those pesky Blood and Moon wolves don't know the first thing about being civil. Follow me, I'll take you upstairs. I believe your stuff is already there."

"Um, okay..." I silently followed him into the elevator, unsure how he'd respond to my questions. I saw that there were 8 floors and Leo pressed the button to the 5th floor. I definitely wouldn't be jumping out of any windows.

"So how come you're starting late? Where did you come from?" I considered lying but I couldn't think of a decent lie.

"I came from an orphanage," I said quietly, feeling ashamed.

"Oh," he trailed off. "So you're not from any pack?"

"N-no."

"Well thank goodness you got put with us. Those Blood and Moon wolves would have eaten you alive! So tell me, are you an omega?"

"Yeah."

"Hmm. It's kinda hard to tell. I don't know many omegas who are as built as you are but you don't quite look like an alpha. Just make sure you take your suppressants and get new ones from the medical office when you run out. Some wolves are like mindless dogs here and we don't want them jumping on you if you go into heat." I didn't know whether to mention that I didn't have a heat cycle yet.

With a ding, the elevator doors opened to a dimly lit hallway with rich patterned carpet. Leo hummed to himself as he led the way and again, I followed in silence. His cheery demeanour was slightly irritating. There's nothing in life to be that cheery about, but then again I'm not a respected leader of a whole ass pack at Holloway. I'm not even respected as a living being, given that I was thrown away at birth, but I guess that's just my shitty luck.

We stopped at door 57. "Here's your keycard. You'll need it to get into the building and your room. Try not to lose it." He grinned at me and I took the keycard.

"You'll meet your roommate in a bit. He's an omega if that's what you're worrying about. Everyone has class at the moment but they'll be back in a couple hours."

"How come you're not in class?"

"Well someone had to bring you to your room. Can't have newbie omegas wandering around here, you know." He chuckled slightly and it made me feel uneasy. "I'll see you later, Casper." He turned and walked off with his hands in his pockets.

The door opened up to a decent-sized room with a bed and desk on each side and to my right was an ensuite bathroom. One side of the room was pretty much empty with just a bag on the floor and it didn't take much to guess that it was going to be my side as the bed on the other side was littered with plushies and stuffed animals. How can an 18-year-old have that many toys at his grown ass age? You would think Disneyland came over and threw up all over his bed. I rolled my eyes and sat down on my side. The events of this morning replayed over and over in my head without a pause button and a headache was starting to grow.

It must have been hours before I came back to my senses because suddenly I could hear lots of voices outside my door. My heart began knocking at my chest again and I could feel goosebumps rising on my limbs. I heard a click, indicating that the door was being unlocked and in walked my roommate. He stopped for a good few seconds to study me before grinning from ear to ear.

"Oh, hi! You must be my new roommate. I'm Enzo Lee, but call me En!"

I don't have the energy for this...
