Chapter 14: The Boy Who’d Never Been to Magic“Shut the fuck up!”
The sudden eruption of fury cracked through the air like thunder—sharp, explosive, and unexpected. It was Kai.
For a while now, everyone had been talking over each other, firing questions like malfunctioning radios without giving either Taehyung or Jungkook a moment to breathe, let alone speak. And Kai—ever the calm one—finally snapped.
The room stilled instantly. Seojun ducked behind Eunwoo like a scolded puppy, Eunwoo instinctively shut his eyes, bracing for more. Jackson glanced away, avoiding all eye contact. Jungkook? He simply stood frozen, expression unreadable, mask in place. And Taehyung... Taehyung just closed his eyes, inhaled once, and opened them again, locking eyes with Kai—calm, collected, but slightly shaken.

.A heavy silence cloaked the room as everyone now sat on the couch, heads low, lips sealed.
Kai exhaled deeply, his tone calmer but commanding. “Now... will someone please explain what happened?”
Jungkook remained seated close to Taehyung, their shoulders almost touching, a subtle sign of comfort.
With a quiet sigh, Taehyung began to speak. His voice was soft, laced with exhaustion but laced with truth. He told them everything—from the nightmares that had haunted his sleep to the warmth of Jungkook’s care when his world felt cold.
Kai’s face softened, but he still asked, “Why didn’t you tell us?”
“My phone was dead...” Taehyung replied simply, voice low. Kai nodded slightly, letting it rest. The quiet stretched again—thick and awkward—until Jackson’s phone rang, shattering it like glass.
He answered quickly, his face lighting up. “Hey guys... wanna hit the amusement park?”
Heads turned toward him. Seojun's eyes lit up with glee. “YES!” he shouted without hesitation.
“Why so sudden?” Eunwoo asked, brows raised.
“J-Hope hyung just called. He and the others are headed there. He invited me, so... I’m inviting you,” Jackson said with a grin.
“J-Hope?” Kai asked, narrowing his eyes.
“I mean—Hoba,” Jackson corrected with a sheepish smile.
Jungkook looked mildly offended. “He didn’t invite me?”
“Did you even check your phone?” Jackson chuckled.
Jungkook pulled out his phone, blinking at the screen. “Oh. I... guess I didn’t.” A faint smile touched his lips. “He did message me.”
“So, you guys in?”
“YESSS!” Seojun squealed again.
“No.”
All heads turned toward Taehyung.
“Why?” Jungkook was the first to ask, his disappointment barely concealed.
