Chapter 10: Velvet Shadows of Moonlight

The Moonlight Club wasn’t just a sanctuary for the elite—it was a gilded illusion cloaked in darkness.

Renowned among Korea’s upper echelon, Moonlight Club glittered beneath opulent chandeliers, echoing with laughter and music. A haven for the rich and powerful to shed their burdens, indulge in fleeting pleasures, and silence their demons—if only for a night. Beneath its golden walls, no rules chained its patrons; one-night stands bloomed like petals under neon lights, and secrets whispered louder than music.

But for those who had peeled back the velvet curtain, Moonlight Club revealed its true form: a labyrinth of sin and shadows. While the public believed it a legal playground, the privileged few knew it was a sanctuary of vice—an underworld thriving beneath a polished facade.

Here, crime reigned behind closed doors. Drug rings operated under the guise of champagne deliveries. Human trafficking wore the mask of exclusive “escort services.” Arms deals were struck with a smile over fine whiskey. Illegal bets turned dreams into ash—bike racing, underground boxing, and high-stakes gambling lured desperate souls with promises of wealth, only to swallow them whole. Victory made billionaires. Defeat delivered corpses.

The king of this infernal empire?
Vegas Kornwit Theetapanukun.
A former Thai minor mafia lord, now the enigmatic owner of Moonlight. A man of quiet menace, married to Pate—his ex-bodyguard, now his partner in life and crime. Together, they ruled this empire of secrets, raising a child amidst blood-stained glamour.

POV – Moonlight’s Heart: Vegas

“Sir, Mr. Song has arrived,” a man in a sharp black suit announced.

Vegas reclined in the shadows of the VIP room, eyes cold and calculating. “Send him in,” he commanded, voice deep enough to freeze air.

Moments later, Song entered—older, nervous, yet masking it well.

“What a surprise, Mr. Song,” Vegas said, lounging like a monarch. “After all these years.”

“A pleasure, Mr. Vegas,” Song responded, offering a handshake. Vegas gestured for him to sit.

“What brings you to my den?”

“I need your help,” Song admitted after a breath. “One of my most loyal men vanished. He was last seen here—at Moonlight. His tracker went dark shortly after. We’ve hit a dead end.”

Vegas arched a brow. “Why would I dirty my hands with your business?”

“Because his last trace was your club.”

Vegas went silent. Then he smiled. “Fine. I’ll look into it. But everything comes with a price.”

“Name it.”

“Not yet. I’ll collect... when the time is right.”

POV – Taehyung

“Hyung, where are you?” Seo-jun’s voice rang through the phone.

“In the car. Tell Kai to go ahead, I’ll meet you at the spot.”

Taehyung ended the call and arrived at a quiet restaurant—humble, serene. He slipped into a corner booth and ordered his usual: strawberry ice cream. Minutes later, a man in his 40s entered.
