CHAPTER 11: "The Storm Beneath the Asphalt"
POV
Thunderous cheering erupted across the racing field. The electric energy in the air was undeniable—an ocean of voices rising with excitement. Most of the crowd roared for Payu, the seasoned star. Only a handful dared to shout Taehyung’s name.
Both racers stood poised at the starting line, engines humming like beasts ready to devour the wind. Payu glanced sideways at Taehyung, smirking with arrogance. Taehyung didn’t even flinch—his eyes locked ahead, a predator focused on the hunt.
"Alright, everyone is ready!" A booming voice echoed through the field.
The two nodded silently.
"We'll count from one to three. On three—race."
"One."
Engines roared to life, vibrating like thunder beneath their frames.
"Two."
Taehyung inhaled deeply, steadying his heartbeat.
"Three!"
In an instant, both bikes screamed forward, tearing through the wind. They weaved through sharp turns and unforgiving bends. For Taehyung, it wasn’t unfamiliar—but it had been years. His muscle memory battled his rust. This wasn't just a race—it was a reckoning.
Payu was undeniably skilled. His movements precise, his speed relentless. But Taehyung… Taehyung wasn’t one to crumble.
He twisted the throttle harder. His bike howled in response.
Time blurred. Half an hour passed in a whirlwind of adrenaline. They were neck-and-neck, shadows chasing each other, neither backing down.
One final turn. One would taste glory. The other, bitter defeat.
Payu darted a glance at Taehyung, gritted his teeth, and surged forward.
But Taehyung—Taehyung answered. With a fraction more speed, with a will that refused to yield.
The field fell silent. A breathless pause consumed the crowd. No cheers. No murmurs. Not even a heartbeat dared interrupt this moment.
Payu edged forward—just a little—
But Taehyung… he soared past.
"TAEHYUNG!"
The name ripped through the crowd like wildfire. Cheers exploded. Some faces stared in disbelief, others erupted with joy.
They skidded to a stop. Helmets came off. Sweat clung to their temples.
Taehyung didn’t bask in the spotlight—he went straight to his friends and Pate.
Seo-jun dashed over, embracing him tightly. “Hyung, you won! I knew it!”
Taehyung offered a small, knowing smile before walking toward Pate.
"So," he said with a smirk, "how does it feel watching your son lose?"
Pate’s eyes narrowed, glaring coldly.
“Pa…” Payu’s voice broke the tension as he approached.
“Yah, Taehyung—you’re seriously insane on the track,” Payu said with a chuckle, slinging an arm over his shoulder.
Taehyung shifted away slightly. “Maybe.”
Kai, noticing someone unfamiliar, raised a brow. “Who's he?”
Payu grinned. “Meet Rain—my fiancé. Rain, these are my friends.”
They exchanged greetings. Rain, however, seemed instantly captivated by Taehyung, practically glowing in his presence.
Payu noticed. His jaw twitched. Jealousy flared.
Without a word, he tugged Rain away, disappearing into the crowd.
Pate chuckled quietly at the scene. Pare stepped forward, her demeanor shifting.
“So, what kind of help do you need?” she asked, voice serious.
“Let’s talk somewhere private,” Taehyung replied. “Call Vegas too.”
Though confused, Pate nodded.

POV
The next day – Seoul University
“Alright, class. Any questions?” Taehyung’s voice echoed in the lecture hall.
Silence.
“No questions? Then let’s move on,” he said, turning back to the board and scribbling out another complex math problem.
At the back of the class, Jungkook stared—but not at the board.
His eyes fixated on Taehyung’s silhouette… more specifically, on his perfect, sculpted ass.
Namjin were in another class. J-Hope, Jimin, and Jackson were elsewhere.
“Wanna eat that?” Yoongi whispered beside Jungkook.
“…Yes,” Jungkook answered before even thinking.
“Then go get it.”
Jungkook’s eyes widened. “W-What?! H-Hyung?!”
Yoongi smirked. “What? Didn’t you hear me?”
Jungkook shook his head frantically, face flushed.
Yoongi leaned in. “Be honest, Jungkook. You’ve got feelings for Taehyung, don’t you?”
Frozen. Jungkook said nothing—but the silence spoke volumes.
“…N-No, I—I don’t—”
“Don’t lie to me. I’ve known you too long. I see it all over your damn face.”
“Shut up, hyung. You’re turning into Jin hyung,” Jungkook muttered, eyes darting back to the board.
Or at least… that’s what he told himself.
---
The bell rang. Students flooded out. Taehyung walked through the corridor, exhaustion etched into every step.
Once inside his office, he sank into the couch and let out a heavy breath.
The race, the late-night conversation with Vegas—it had drained every ounce of energy.
He closed his eyes. Darkness wrapped around him. Sleep claimed him silently.
---
Knock knock.
Jungkook stood at Taehyung’s door. No response.
A battle raged in his chest.
Enter… or walk away?
He entered.
There Taehyung was—fast asleep on the sofa. Unaware. Vulnerable. Beautiful.
Jungkook stepped closer. His hand moved on its own, fingers brushing across Taehyung’s cheek. Over the faint mole beneath his eye. His lips—rosy and inviting.
Jungkook swallowed hard. His own lips parted.
“Why won’t you give me a chance?”
