Chapter-1 Strangers in the smoke

POV
In Korea – Sunday, 10:09 PM | Inside a Bar

The bar pulsed with noise and sweat, a humid cocktail of perfume, cologne, and lust. Bodies moved like waves under flashing lights—grinding, gasping, and gripping like nothing else in the world mattered. Some were lost in dance, others tangled in each other’s arms, kissing like sin was their only salvation.

Then, the door creaked open.

A boy stepped in—shoulders relaxed, eyes sharp, his presence like a ripple slicing through chaos. His gaze swept the crowd—hungry eyes following him, lips whispering his name like a dare. He didn’t care. He never did.

With the practiced ease of someone who’s done this a hundred times before, he made his way to the bar, ignoring the ones who reached for him. He came here often, and every time, he left with someone—boy or girl didn’t matter. Desire came easily when you looked like him.

Tonight would be no different.

Except... it was.

Just before reaching the counter, his eyes caught a figure seated ahead—slender back facing him. The stranger wore a tiger-print shirt over a simple white top, black pants hugging long legs. Something about the way he sat—relaxed yet aware—pulled him in like gravity.

He slid onto the stool next to him, unable to see his face yet.

“So, what’s a beauty like you doing here all alone?”

The boy turned his head, and in that moment—he forgot to breathe.

God. Beautiful wasn’t the right word. Ethereal, maybe. Lethal, definitely.

He stared, unblinking, stunned into silence, until that velvet-deep voice cut through the haze.

“Waiting for a hot guy like you.”

A smirk tugged at his lips. He leaned in.

“Hi, I’m Jeon Jungkook. And you are…?”

“Taehyung. Kim Taehyung. Pleasure’s mine.”
Their hands met in a shake that lasted just a second too long.

“First time here?” Jungkook asked, voice low, testing the waters.

“First time in Korea, actually,” Taehyung answered.

Drinks were ordered. The conversation flowed.

“Any girlfriends?”

Taehyung’s smile was soft, almost teasing.

“Never had a reason for one. What about you?”

“Same. I’m more of a one-night stand guy. Less drama.”

Oddly, Jungkook felt lighter hearing that. Taehyung wasn’t tied down—and neither was he.

Truth be told, Taehyung had been watching Jungkook too. From the moment he stepped in, all sleek confidence and dark temptation. But Taehyung was a master of control, of masking what he felt—though something in Jungkook was starting to peel those layers.

“So… are you straight, or?”

“Bisexual,” Jungkook replied easily. “You?”

“Same. I guess we’re alike.”
A beat passed. Jungkook’s smirk widened.

“So… looking for someone tonight?”

“Maybe. Can’t say for sure. Why?” Taehyung replied, voice laced with mischief. “You sound a little too interested.”
