After one year
Siya encounters a female police inspector named Lawan Wong at her home. Siya appears emotionally distressed, and Inspector Wong questions her about an incident, urging her to remember details. Siya recounts a recent phone call with her Freen, discussing their upcoming second anniversary.
In a flashback two weeks ago
Freen, busy with work, promises to prioritize Siya over her office work . They plan to celebrate their anniversary on an island, choosing Mauritius.
Freen: I'll be a bit late today, so could you please pick Siya up from school?
Siya: Mrs. Singhania, don't worry. Siya is with me, we're heading home, and I'll also pick you up from the office.
Freen: Thank you, Siya. You're very caring.
Siya: Mom, I want to talk to Mommy too.
Siya Singhania: Alright, dear, talk to Mommy.
Siya: Hello, Mommy. Why will you be late today? I miss you, Mommy.
Freen: Mommy misses you too, dear. I have some work today, but I'll finish it and come home.
Siya: Okay, Mommy. Finish your work quickly and come home, then we'll go for ice cream with you and Mom.
Freen: Okay, dear. Now give the phone to Mommy.
(Siya hands the phone to her mom.)
Siya Singhania: Our daughter has spoken. Siya, I'll come to pick you up (Siya Singhania looks at her daughter) then we'll go for ice cream.
Freen: Okay, Siya. I'm so lucky to have you in my life. You understand everything without me saying a word, you handle everything. Before I even speak...
Siya: Oh, Freen, you're starting again. If you keep talking to me like this, when will you finish your work? Focus on your work now, and when you're done, call me.
Freen: Alright, Siya.
(Siya hangs up the phone.)
[Siya explains to Inspector Wong that]
Siya : Freen never returned home, causing her great concern. Desperate, she searches for her everywhere .
Siya: It's 9 o'clock at night, but Freen hasn't called. I tried calling her, but she didn't pick up. Then I called her office, and they said Freen left at 8 o'clock. But she hasn't come home yet. I took my car to search for Freen, but I couldn't find her anywhere.
Flashback:
(Siya is in the car, trying to find Freen everywhere possible, but Freen's whereabouts are unknown. Siya calls Uncle.)
Uncle: Hello, Siya, dear.
Siya: (crying) Uncle, Freen...
Uncle: What happened, dear? Why are you crying?
Siya: Uncle, I can't find Freen anywhere. I've searched everywhere, Uncle. I'll go crazy. Please help me, Uncle. I can't live without Freen. Please find her.
Uncle: Calm down, dear. Where are you right now?
Siya: Uncle, I'm outside Freen's office.
Uncle: Don't worry, and go home. I'm coming. Drive the car carefully. You're panicking too much. Don't rush. I'll be there soon.
(Uncle meets Siya at home. Siya hugs him and starts crying. Uncle consoles her.)
Uncle: Siya, calm down, dear. Freen will be okay. She's not a little girl; she's an adult. She might have gone somewhere, and her phone might be off, that's why she's not picking up.
