The room fell silent, Ada looked at Meera whose breathing had intensified, everyone at this point were looking at the traitor now, the one who was responsible for the death of the Queen.
Meera tried to run away, but was caught within seconds by Adwith, she let out a screeching noise, she wasn't liking this, at all. "Your play is over" Ada said in a deep voice, and left the room, letting the King decide, the punishment of his beloved maid.
"How...How could you?" Ranvijay breathed out, he still couldn't believe she did something like this, "You..." he stuttered, "I trusted you!" he bellowed and Meera flinched, "I couldn't..." she tried to say, "I couldn't see her with you" she completed the treacherous sentence, "She wasn't to marry you Ranvijay" she said in a low voice.
He creased his forehead unable to comprehend what she was trying to say, "I was to marry you, she didn't even want to marry you or anybody, so I was given the...the opportunity to marry you" she explained, "But the moment she took a look at your portrait, she was determined that she had never seen a man like that and she accepted the proposal." Meera continued.
Everyone present in the courtroom were staring confusingly at her, "She took you away from me, I had already dreamed about you, about us" she said, tears in her eyes, "So, you killed her?" Ranvijay simply asked, "She was getting on my nerves, both of you were" she hissed, "So, I did what was necessary" she scoffed, no remorse in her voice, "You have no regrets?" Ranvijay asked.
"No, wait I actually have one" she said, "I wish I killed that phony bitch tonight as well" she smiled as she got up, "Adwith, take her away from in front of my eyes, do whatever you want to, but do not let her be happy" The King ordered.
Adwith nodded to the command given by his King and then gave a small nod in the direction of his best friend, "Go, sleep, Alaaya, forget all about it" Adwith said to her, and then took Meera by the arms and dragged her out while she laughed hysterically.
Alaaya
My heart beat had shot up, seeing a mad Meera in his arms all I could do was pray, pray to every god out there, to let him be safe.
He took her away, her laughter was echoing in the corridors, 'How can someone be so heartless?" I muttered under my breathe.
I was left alone in the massive courtroom, with Rajaji and looking at his ashen face and distraught eyes, I felt it right to not invade his privacy and walked out of the room, there was nothing I could have done or said that would have made his aching heart hurt less.
My feet took me to her room, the Queen's, who was also apparently the most distinguished killer of this kingdom. I had heard her name, The Shadow, the wrath of the gods that's what they called her, because only gods would create a creature so harmful, to evade earth off of monsters.
The woman of the society had talked, a lot about the mysterious killer who only strike men, none of them bad mouthed the person. If only I could tell them that their saviour in disguise was also a woman, their heads won't fall down on the site of a man, and when I tell them that it was the queen of their kingdom, I knew that all of them will stand up against those horrid creatures.
The noise of my anklet bells was echoing in the corridors, the soldiers shifted in their places, only their faces visible, when I had first come here, in the palace, to accompany my mother, I was terrified of them, of their faces which were the only part of their body visible.
