(n.) an overwhelming urge to run away

——————————————————————————————————————————————————

She had no choice. She had to do it. And she knew. She knew what was to come. They only had one day left before they would be at the location Annabeth's compass directed them towards. It pained her to think about what she had to do... but she had to.

"Okay guys, we're going to stock up on supplies. Leo, land the boat," Annabeth commanded. The brown haired boy obliged, going to the engine room to adjust some things. Celeste's eyes were glazed. Piper pushed her rolling office chair in Celeste's direction.

"You good?" She asked, noticing how forlorn Celeste had looked. She gave a nod, a splitting headache erupted in her head, and she winced.

"Okay guys, everything's good! We've landed, so we'll should be there in about 10 minutes!" Leo called out to them. He gave Celeste a wink and finger guns before whistling off towards the kitchen. Celeste froze. Now. She had to do it now.

"I'm... gonna use the bathroom," She told Piper, awkwardly stepping away from her. When no one was looking, she snuck into the engine room. Her fingers shaking, she attached the bomb under the control panel, so if Leo were to step in, he wouldn't notice it. Her tattoo burned. It had never been this bad, and she saw that it was the full moon. It was nearly unbearable, but the voices soothed her.

You're doing the right thing, the voice said calmly. She listened to it, although a bit of reluctance sparked in her mind. She silently slipped out of the engine room and sat on the deck, her backpack strapped on her. She swallowed. What would happen now?

Distancing herself from the others, she let her thoughts consume her. Her tattoo had stopped burning; was it because she was doing the right thing, or it was too late for her to fix what she had done?

Everyone had now gathered on the deck, enjoying and goofing off before they had to collect the rare metal.

Her heart broke when she saw Nico walk up towards her, a smile on his face. He had been so much more more happier since he had visited Italy... and she had to ruin it. She coldly turned away from him, not wanting him to see the tears form in her eyes.

Suddenly, she heard screams, and she turned around, orange flashing. The engine room had caught fire, and it was spreading fast towards the others. The mast got corroded with fire and broke off, landing on everyone else with a BOOM!

The fire was rapidly spreading, and everyone except her and Nico were trapped under the mast as the fire edged closer and closer to them. Nico turned to her, panic in his eyes.

"Celeste, we have to help them. Celeste?" She started to walk of the Argo III, not daring to look back. She could hear Nico's mind trying to comprehend what she was doing. Realization dawned on him.

"You- you planted a bomb?! I-you-" she turned to look at him, tears glistening in her eyes as she realized which she she was now on.

"Goodbye, Nico," She whispered, walking away from the Argo III. She knew he wouldn't go after her, he'd have to save everyone else first.

A cold feeling suddenly surrounded her as she turned to see a tall, slender women with pale blue skin reaching out to touch your shoulder.

"Good job, Celestial," The women said silkily, lifting up her chin so that she would have eye contact with her.

"I am Eris, goddess of Chaos and Discord,"
