There was a loud deafening silence for a few seconds in the room and it broke by Lucifer's chuckle.
Lucifer : if she can't be mine.. I won't let her be anyone else's too.
He says before he too fell unconscious. The water that they both had drunk, was poisoned. There was nothing Samuel could do anymore.
Samuel : no.. no it can't be..
He looked back in horror and immediately put aera's head on his lap patting her cheeks softly.
Samuel: a-aera... Aera wake u-up darling..
He said as his voice was laced with horror as the dread washed over him and he immediately picked her up and drove to the hospital at full speed. He carried her into the hospital in his arms as he called for the doctor and they took her to the operation theatre.
Samuel : p-please save her and my b-baby.. please doctor..
He said still in horror and disbelief that all this was happening as he fell back into the chair putting his face in his trembling hands. Every negative thought was crossing his head at the speed of light, making his heart shatter completely. He took out his phone with his trembling hands and told the others about the situation.
One moment they were having fun and bickering at the cafe and the next moment he was with her at the hospital with no whatsoever belief if she will even come back alive or not as he sobbed painfully, his whole body trembling in fear and pain. Never in her life had he ever gone through this kind of horrible fear. The fear of losing your only loved one.
An hour passed by with him sobbing hard and uncontrollably as the fear of losing aera and his unborn child was coursing through his whole body and the others arrived soon. They were shocked and horrified to see Samuel like that. They approached him immediately.
Jin : hey, hey, calm down.. everything will be fine. She will be fine.
He said softly patting his back and Samuel hugged him immediately crying on his shoulder.
Samuel : a-aera, she w-wasn't moving.. m-my baby.. I don't want to lose any of them
He cried harder dreading that his fear may come true and jin's eyes also watered as he felt his heart clench to see him like that and also to hear about aera's condition. He rubbed his back soothingly. The others were already crying by now and Suga sat on the other bench staring at the ground in disbelief.
Suga : why does God do all this to that poor girl?
He said holding his head as a few tears dropped from his closed eyes. He hated that she had to go through all that even after she was so nice to everyone. Never in her life had she done anything bad to anyone but still.
The others consoled each other as another hour passed by with no news from the room, all of them too tired and worn out to cry anymore with their eyes swolled but Samuel was sitting with his knees pressed close to his chest as he stared at the ceiling, remembering their happy and sad moments together as the tears kept flowing from his eyes.
The only sound in the room was everyone's breathing and Samuel's sniffling and hiccuping as she also sobbed in between feeling overwhelmed and scared to his core. Suddenly the red light above the OT's door went off and the door slowly opened catching Samuel's attention as she immediately went to the doctor stumbling a bit.
Samuel : h-how are they doctor? A-aera and my b-baby? T-they are both okay right? Tell me?!
The doctors gulped and looked down trembling in fear knowing very well who he was as they stuttered out.
Doctor : w-we are sorry.
The three words that left his mouth were like lightning striking them as Samuel stumbled backwards and held the wall for support, his eyes widened and his heartbeat stopped for a moment.
Samuel : w-what do you m-mean? M-my aera is fine right? And my baby?
The doctors looked down even more.
Doctor : we are sorry Mr. Collins but we couldn't save them. The poison in her body was very severe and because of her pregnancy, it spread through her body even faster. We tried our best to save her. T-they child had d-died already when you arrived.
He stayed silent. Too silent. Even the wall couldn't support him anymore as he fell on his knees leaning on the wall beside him. All his senses were knocked out of him as she shook his head and desperately went inside pushing the doctors out of the way.
The others were too shocked and broken to even react. The doctors silently left to arrange the formalities as he went in and looked at her lifeless body, covered with a white cloth. Her milky skin paler than ever before. Her lips were slightly parted and mostly purple. His heart thumped in his chest as he cupped her cheek with his violently shaking hands. It was cold. Her warmth no more in her body.
Samuel : a-aera... I-i know you're l-listening.. w-wake up please... You can't leave me like this, darling.. p-please open your eyes... P-please don't be stubborn right now .. .
He cried terribly as he softly patted her cheeks to bring her back to life. The others entered slowly soon after and didn't dare to do or speak anything. They stood there silently crying and sobbing looking at them.
Samuel : wake up, darling... I-it's been too long.. say something.. tell me you're here.. please open your eyes.. you can't leave me.. don't leave me please.. please stay ..
He cried falling on his knees beside her holding her hand tightly.
Samuel : please don't leave me alone aera... I beg you please... P-please don't
He cried harder and harder holding on her hand as if his life depended on it. The doctors came back to take her body and Samuel glared at all of them hugging her body tightly.
Samuel : don't you dare touch my wife!! She's alive! You all are wrong!
Jin : let go of her, sam. Let her rest now..
He was sobbing too as he tried to calm him down.
Samuel : no! How can you say that about your own sister!? She's completely fine! She is just resting!
He says hugging her tightly.
Suga : because that's the truth. Accept it. Let her rest now at least...
He says in monotone, her tears still falling down his cheeks as he wiped them.
Samuel : my area can't leave me. You all are wrong!
He says lowly as he stares at her.
Namjoon : life doesn't go as per our wishes every time.
He was also crying by now as he wiped his tears harshly. Angry at himself that he couldn't protect her. Samuel quietly looks at her and puts his head over her chest, trying to hear any even the smallest of her heartbeat.
Samuel : please.. come back..
He closed his eyes and for a moment everything was silent as a few tears dropped on her.
