(Deliadis POV)
I heard a very soft thunk, but I couldn't care. I was too exhausted and upset to care about who was visiting me late at night. I pushed myself off the door, climbing into my warm sheets. I started to close my eyes, only for a hand to cover my mouth. I bit down on one of the fingers, earning a yelp from whoever did that.
"Delia. It is me." What was Elladan doing in my room late at night? I thought he hated me. I peeled his fingers off my mouth and began apologizing profusely. He looked confused and quickly pushed a finger to my lips. His face suddenly turned red in the darkness. He quickly pulled his finger away, looking down at me.
"Delia, do not apologize. You had every right to be scared. I was unnecessarily angry. You were completely justified in telling me to stop. I just hope that you can forgive me."
"I was never upset at you in the first place. Now hurry up and crawl in before your father hears you." His face seemed a little redder as he crawled in on my other side. I curled my legs up, feeling even more exhausted now. Elladan's breath grew steady. It was peaceful. I closed my eyes, only for what felt like minutes later, I saw a blinding light and a loud ringing. I saw Elladan standing on a mountainside. It was snowing everywhere and there was a crack of lightning. I watched helplessly as a rock came tumbling down the mountain, crashing into Elladan and taking him off the cliff. I screamed out his name, sitting straight up in bed.
"Delia! What happened?" I turned my head towards Elladan. I threw my arms around him, sobbing into his chest.
"Please don't go near any snowy cliffs anytime soon."
"What? What would I be-"
"Just promise me!"
"Alright, alright. I promise." I held on tightly to his chest, still crying. It was the dead of night still, but I wasn't sure if I could sleep. "Go back to sleep. Nothing will hurt you." I shook my head, still clinging to his chest. I felt a tentative hand on my head. Elladan gently rubbed my head with his hand, trying to calm me. It admittedly worked very well, as I found myself falling asleep on his chest, still sitting upright. When I opened my eyes again, sunlight was streaming in, and I was tangled up with Elladan, who was fast asleep. I gave up trying to untangle myself, and laid my head against his chest. The vision from the night was still haunting me. The fear in his eyes, the horrible sound of rock hitting bone. I held back tears, burying my face closer into his chest. After an hour, Elladan woke up. He gently untangled both of us, and we laid side by side, staring at the ceiling.
"I'm sorry. I never meant to shout at you." Elladan rolled over, looking down at the sheets.
"Do not apologize. Please, do not. It hurts my heart to hear you apologize for something I caused." There was a bell ringing in the distance. I could hear Elrond speaking in the room a few doors down.
"He is awake then." Frodo was awake. That meant the council would be occurring soon. Elladan pushed himself up, standing on the floor beside my bed.
"I shall see you at the council Delia. Do sleep peacefully tonight." I watched him leave, my heart and head feeling a little heavier. The next few days felt like a blur. Come the morning of the council, I arrived early, climbing up into a tree above the seats. I watched as a blonde elf walked into the circle of chairs, running his hands along the stone of the pedestal at the center. I watched quietly, not wanting to make my presence known. More people walked in, including Elladan, Elrohir, and Elrond. He was the only one to notice me. He gave a small nod of his head, allowing me to stay in the tree. Then the man from my vision walked into the council. My heart beat fast. I kept my eyes on him, and noticed my brother walk into the council. I plucked a leaf from the tree, letting it float down and land on his head. My brother looked up, disguising his movements as restlessness. He raised his eyebrows, gesturing for me to get down. I shook my head, using my head to tell him to pay attention to Elrond. I watched as two hobbits hid behind pillars as Gandalf and Frodo walked in. I chuckled a little, watching as the elves seated looked around for the source of the laugh. They didn't think to look in my tree, and once everyone was seated, I turned my attention back to the man from my vision. This was going to be a very long meeting.
