(Deliadis POV)
I woke up in the warmth of blankets.
"Morning sleepyhead." I rolled over, glaring at my brother.
"This is your fault." He laughed sheepishly.
"I didn't mean to push you into toxic brambles that could have killed you."
"That's what you say. Help me up." I smirked as my brother pulled me up, helping me walk since my legs were still a little numb. Aragorn and I had gotten into a fight while guiding the hobbits after we reached Weathertop. He had accidentally pushed me into a patch of toxic brambles, making me utterly useless. After about twenty minutes my legs finally had feeling in them. "Aragorn. How did we get here?"
"Actually, Elladan took you while Glorfindel took Frodo. Elladan looked very worried. You might want to-"
"Deliadis!" I looked around, only to be caught in a hug. It was Elladan. He hugged me tightly, laughing. "You are alright!" I laughed as Elladan set me down.
"Of course! How are you? How's Elrohir?"
"I am alright. Elrohir is doing very well. You must be starving. Come on, I will help you to the dining hall so your brother can find Arwen." We both watched as Aragorn's face turned red. We laughed at my brother's expense. Elladan and I walked to the dining hall, chatting and spending time catching up.
"Oh! I've already showed Aragorn but I want to show you. I got my first scar!" I lifted up my shirt to reveal the scar. I had expected a rapid amount of questions but Elladan seemingly looked sad.
"What happened?" He ran his fingers along the scar. "Delia...what happened?" I swallowed a lump that was forming in my throat.
"Two trolls. I kind of walked in on them trying to create babies." Elladan's face formed into one of disgust and he laughed awkwardly.
"Congratulations." We fell back into a chatting rhythm. As the night dragged on the warmth of good wine and food made me sleepy. Elrohir finally joined us as I yawned.
"Someone certainly is sleepy! How have you been?"
"I've been better." I chuckled to myself, yawning again. The twins began arguing over something idiotic and I finally felt at home. I laid my head on Elladan's shoulder, closing my eyes. I opened my eyes to being carried. I stared sleepily up at whoever was carrying me. It was Elladan. "Hey...stupid."
"Shh...go back to sleep."
"...No." I was actually very tired. I placed my head back against Elladan's chest, my eyes growing heavy. He smelled nice. Similar to a forest after rain. I closed my eyes, waking up to my door opening. "Where..."
"Your room. Go back to sleep. Again." He set me down on my bed but I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Good night Delia."
"Stay. Curfew is probably passed already."
"I can sneak past my father." I pushed myself up, trying to keep my head up despite it feeling heavy and waterlogged.
"That's a lie." Elladan chuckled, pulling my arms off his neck. "You know it."
"You are right. As usual." I shifted over, laying back down. I felt Elladan's weight beside me. I rolled over, facing him. "What is it? You are clearly thinking about something."
"Aragorn said you were mopey. Why?"
"I chose the life of and elf, as did my brother. He does not feel the need for the lover, but I...I am a little lonely. Have you made up your mind yet?" My throat went dry. I looked at my sheets, gripping my pillow. "You have not decided yet, have you?" I shook my head. "Why?"
"Because my brother doesn't have a choice. I-I don't want to say goodbye to him but I'm petrified of death." Elladan nodded, pulling me into a hug. "I'm sorry...I shouldn't have to tell you all this."
"You have to talk to people. It's the only way it gets out there." My eyes grew heavy in the warmth of my sheets and Elladan's embrace. I closed my eyes, settling into sleep. When morning came I was still exhausted. I walked into my bathroom, the world around me spinning. I presumed it was from the dream I had. It felt too real, falling into a volcano alongside a horrid creature that was skin and bones. A pain ran through my legs, and I let out a whine as I dropped to the floor. "Delia? Are you alright?"
"I-I'm fine."
"Are you sure? I'm going to come i-"
I saw a bright white light and heard a loud ringing.
(Elladan POV)
There was a very loud thunk. I ran into the bathroom, finding Deliadis lying on her back, her eyes clouded with what looked like mist.
"Adar! Adar listo!" (Father! Father please!) My father came rushing in, staring at the pair of us. I could hardly breathe. My father knelt down, holding up her head. "Adar...what's happening?" He would not answer me. I just stood there, keeping my balance by leaning on the doorframe. Her eyes suddenly cleared up and she gasped.
"Keep him away from it! Keep him away from the Ring!" My father and I looked at each other as Deliadis caught her breath. My father gently held her head, muttering a spell. My eyes grew heavy, even though the spell was not being used on me. It was a testament to my father's magic. I swayed a little, under the influence of the spell. My father lifted Delia off the floor, her eyes closed in a sleep.
"Go back to sleep Elladan. I will return shortly." I sank down against the wall, my eyes drifting shut. I awoke to Elrohir tapping my shoulder.
"Elladan...where's Delia?" I spoke through whatever enchantment father had done, struggling to keep my eyes open.
"Father...he has...her." Elrohir pulled me off the ground, holding me up as he dragged me down the hall. He got me onto my bed, and I fell fully back asleep. I opened my eyes again to my father leaning over me. My head ached.
"Drink this." He gave me a glass of something and it helped clear up my drowsiness. "Before you ask, Deliadis is fine. She merely inherited her father's little quirk of seeing events from the future." I merely stared at my father. Surely he had not said what I thought he had said.
"What?" I pushed myself up, my head still aching. "What do you mean a 'little quirk'?"
"Something she inherited. She will be alright. She may be a little rattled at the moment though. She has been asking if you were alright though, strangely enough. Did you two do something?" I coughed at my father's words. He could not possibly be serious. I may have thought of Delia in that matter, but I was just a friend to her. Only a friend, nothing more.
"N-No! Dear Eru father! I am not an orc!" My father chuckled, rolling his eyes.
"The council will be held once Frodo Baggins is awake. Make sure you are ready."
