Chapter 16:

(Ethan POV) -Albuquerque-

I kept staring at her wanting to make sure that she was real. "Mira?" I asked again. She went into a curtsey, "Prince Ethan Asher Albridge the First." She did it again with the fancy accent and hand movement on the last part and I felt the corners of my lips start to rise, she was alive. She was alive! She was alive. The more I thought about it I realized that she had been alive this entire time. She left me alone and she was alive. I started to become angry, "Where have you been?" I asked. She looked down at the ground, not answering me. I could feel myself getting angrier, "DAMIRA WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? WHY DIDN'T YOU CONTACT ME?" I asked. She looked up at me. Her eyes widened, "I don't want to fight." I took a breath, "Neither do I. But Damira what happened?" She looked down for a while before looking at me again, "I-I'm free."

(Damira POV) -unknown-

-three months ago-

I woke up laying down on a bed that I didn't recognize. Everything was dark and I could feel the pain in my stomach coming through my entire body. I heard footsteps come closer and I shut my eyes figuring it was better if I pretended to be asleep. I felt the light fade in as someone opened up a window and came closer to my bed. I felt a wet rag being wiped across my brow and my eyes tensed as the water dripped down. "I knew you were awake," I opened my eyes and saw Gabriel sitting over me. I tried to sit up but he stopped me, "You are going to rest and you are going to stay in that bed." I looked around,

"What happened?" Realization started to set in, "Gabriel I am supposed to be dead right now. What did you do?" He sighed, "I promised to keep you safe. Dead is not safe." "But, what about..." The reasons why everything was planned was so clear and I began to panic. "Hey, no. You are not going to try and kill yourself after all the work I put in to keeping you alive." "But..." I started but he stopped me. "Look all Cunningham, Beaumount, Everton, Welshires and their supporters are dead and entombed in that mountain range and as far as the rest of the world is concerned you are buried away with them. You are free kid. No one is going to be coming after you." I could feel myself getting choked up, "I'm free. It's over. I never have to worry about them again?" He nodded his head. "Now I am going to call the doctor in he is going to have a lot to explain to you."

I leaned back into the pillow and watched as a man came in. He looked older and was carrying a small bag with him. "Hello Damira. My name is Doctor Jones and I have been taking care of you these last few months." "Months?" I asked not sure what he meant. He let out a long breath, "You have been here for about two months now. When your father brought you here we weren't sure if you were going to make it." Father? I thought but, I shook it off. "Your wounds have been healing nicely. If you need anything let me or my wife know." He went to walk away but I needed to ask, "Where are we?" He looked back at me, "We are in Enchancia." I nodded my head, "Thank you." I looked over to the window and relaxed knowing that everyone in that mountain range was far behind me. There was only one thing that was missing or one person...

(Ethan POV) -Albuquerque

She seemed happy for a moment but, then I saw her expression change again, "I didn't come here to tell you what was going on..." she started. She sighed, "I came here to say Goodbye." I looked over at her again but she was starting to walk away. I ran up ahead of her and stopped her, "Goodbye? You owe me so much more than goodbye. Damira I thought you died. For the last five months and 3 days I thought that you were dead and I thought that it was my fault. So I don't care if you don't want to explain this to me. You owe it to me." I could hear the sound of people making their way around towards us and saw. Mira started to look around. She lifted her hood and put a mask on covering her nose and mouth, "I can't be seen here. No one can know that I am still alive." I held onto her wrist, "Damira. Please." She looked back one more time and I saw something change in her gaze, "Meet me at my old roof and a bed. I will explain everything there." She ran off before I could say anything else.
