Chapter 31:

(Andrew POV) -Tangu-

I made my way to Tangu and as I arrived the guards stopped me. "Xavier, what is going on?" I asked him and he sighed, "Sorry we are under strict orders not to let you or your sister in without invitation." "From who, the King?" I asked. He shook his head and held up a decree. It had Amara's seal on it and I knew that it was from Malcolm, "Xavier, I am telling you that, that is not real." He gave me a sympathetic look, like he knew that it was true, "I'm sorry Andrew it is out of my hands." I nodded my head, "Can you at least tell me if she is here?" He nodded his head, "Yeah she came home a few hours ago and we haven't see her leave since." He turned to the other guard, "Well we change guards in 5 minutes right?" He nodded his head. "So for one minute no one is going to be here." He nodded his head again as they both turned forward. "Thank you," I said as I rode off to the side. I stayed hidden until they walked off and I snuck in leaving my horse tied to a tree.

I made my way through the castle causally, no one suspected anything at the moment. I made my way to all the places that I could think of, the throne room, Amara's chambers, the ballroom, her office, her hiding place in the tower, everywhere. I knew that she was in the castle Xavier told me as much and he wouldn't lie to me. There was one other place that I could think of and I dreaded the thought of it being right. I went over to a maid, "Do you think you can direct me to a Mr. Malcolm's office." She smiled and nodded her head before showing me the way.

I made my way to his office but the door was open. No one was in there. Maybe she was at a charity event, maybe Xavier just didn't see her leave, I tried to tell myself, but I knew it wasn't the case. Something did not feel right. There were papers all over the place and chairs were turned over. The window was open and the curtains blew into the room. I decided to keep looking around the castle, trying to convince myself that my gut feeling was wrong, that I was just being paranoid. I made my way to Uncle Znadar's office. I saw something tacked to the door and quickly saw that it was in Amara's handwriting. Or at least it appeared to be Amara's handwriting, I couldn't be sure of that anymore. I tore it down and quickly read it, Uncle Zandar would forgive me for it later if I was wrong.

Dad,
I am going to the kingdom of Welshire. I will be gone for two weeks, but I will try to return home as soon as possible.
Love you and see you soon,
Princess Amara of Tangu

I read it over again and again until I was positive: there was no way Amara was the one who wrote it. She would never sign a letter Princess Amara unless it was something official and she never listed her kingdom. She also starts all her letters with Dear rather than just stating their name. Furthermore, Amara would say why she was going to a different kingdom and at least give some type of reason whatever it is. Finally, no one in our family would ever step foot in Welshire, not after everything that happened with my Mom, her Mom, and Damira. Something had to have happened.

No one in the castle would believe my word over Malcolm's, at least not out loud although I highly doubt that it is the same privately, so I knew that I had to get back to Albuquerque. The family would do something. They would know what to do. I began to ride back snapping the reigns harder and harder of my flying horse just trying to get to them quickly. I had no idea where she was or what he was going to do, why he specified two weeks. If I was sure of one thing though, there was no way that Amara was actually in Welshire. If Malcolm wrote it he would never say where she actually was and if he had Amara written it, she would have used Welshire to get our attention. I just wasn't sure if I found that comforting or terrifying.

(Amara POV) -unknown-

I sat quietly not moving an inch unaware of where I was or where I was going as I felt the bumps of the road below me. I was still not sure what happened that brought me here. I just felt pain radiating in my head and all I wanted to do was close my eyes. I went to take a long exhale and I felt cloth up against my lips. I soon felt the restraints that were tied on my hands and legs to something that was behind me. My eyes were still out of focus as I tried to hear something around me. Some sound or noise that could give me an idea of where I was. As my thoughts began to become more clear there was only one name that came to mind. I cried out a muffled name but, no one could hear me. Tears came down from my eyes as they began to squeeze shut.

I felt a sudden stop. There was a loud cracking sound and suddenly the little area I was in was filled with light. I then saw the shadow of a man coming closer, "Oh Princess you are awake. We can rectify that." The shadow pulled down the gag and I felt a burning liquid slide down my throat. Suddenly I felt drowsy again and my eyes became heavier, "SSSSHHH." He said his fingers brushing my hair to the side, "Don't try to fight it. Sweet dreams Princess Amara." the light that had filled the areas was gone and I tired to fight the feeling of being tired, willing my eyes open but soon gave out and shut my eyes. A muffled name escaped my lips again before I went to sleep, "Andrew." We had pushed each other away and now I wasn't sure what was going to happen. All I knew was that I needed him to find me. I needed him to save me, because right now it didn't feel like I could save myself.
