don't ever, ever think
you're capable of that.
you're playing my games now"

It's been a day since the events at my grandparents' house,
and I'm still trying to piece together the fragmented puzzle of what happened. My soft board, once a collage of pleasant memories and family photos, has transformed into a chaotic web of murders, crimes, news clippings, and cryptic events. Red strings crisscross the board, connecting each portrait in a tangled mess of intrigue and suspicion.
'It's been three hours, Rachel. You've been staring at that thing forever. Take a break, geez!' Lili's voice cut through her concentration as she turned from the bed to face Rachel.
'Just a minute, I need to figure this out!' replied, Rachel's focus unwavering, eyes locked onto the board as if willing the answers to reveal themselves.
'Okay, fine! I'm leaving. My friend just arrived.' Lili's grunt finally caught her attention, dragging her momentarily back to reality.
'Wait, which friend is this?' Rachel asked, half-interested but mostly distracted.
'Uh, Jiwoo. My uni friend.' With that, Lili darted out to greet Jiwoo, leaving Rachel to her tangled thoughts.
Rachel shrugged and returned her gaze to the soft board, which had become like an unfaithful lover, betraying her need for clarity with its chaotic confusion.
'Well, if—no, the main thing is, I've never found any proper evidence at Hanju.' Rachel muttered into the recorder beside the table. 'Perhaps,'
She mused, fingers deftly rearranging the red strings, 'I should go look again. The place is still sealed!'
Rachel grabbed her phone, car keys, and recorder, rushing downstairs in a flurry of determination. She nearly collided with Jiwoo in the living room. "Oh, hey, um, Jiwoo!" she greeted the young woman, who was about to sit beside Lili on the sofa with a coffee in hand.
