Three weeks later~• Loaine Lorain •~
"Loaine sweetie, someone's here for you!" Loaine groaned in annoyance, pushing herself away from Clance's desk.
Lilian was sweet enough to let her know when someone came to see her at Lillian's house. She had let Loaine stay over for the past three weeks, and the two spend a lot of time together, making cookies and tending to the large area of land. Loaine walked down the stairs and saw Lilian, a tight smile on her lips. Loaine raised an eyebrow in questioning before looking over to the open door, the screen making the person behind it look pixelated.
"Look, I already told you, I don't have any other news, and even if I did, I wouldn't just share it with you before making it public." Loaine crossed her arms over her chest and glared at the man in front of her. He smiled, looking to the ground for a moment before looking back up at Loaine.
"The news would be very useful for me to help this city and my campaign to run for president. Have I ever told you how beautiful you are Ms. Lorain?" Loaine cringed at his comment, before frowning.
"Look Mr. Lewis-"
"Please call me Lance."
"Lance...I already told you I'm don't have anything so I'd really appreciate it if you could leave Mrs. Kurt and myself alone." Lance's smile faltered for a moment before he stuck it there forcefully.
"Oh course Ms. Lorain, I'm sorry to have bothered you," again,Loaine thought bitterly," I'll be going now." He turned and walked down the porch steps as Loaine closed the white door behind him. Lilian sighed as Loaine let out a breath, both women laughing afterwards.
"I'm so sorry Lilian. I can totally move out now." The old woman smiled before waving a hand in dismissal.
"Of course not! Its completely fine. Its not your fault he's so persistent." Lilian scoffed in annoyance and Loaine smiled, motioning behind her.
"Well, I have to finish a report. See you down here for lunch in twenty minutes?" Lilian smiled with a nod before Loaine bounded up the stairs and back into Clance's room. She sat at her computer, the report still half finished, and sighed. It was a small article, not so big, about a mysterious man walking around at night. Loaine swore Charlie was still mad at her for her stunt that she pulled three weeks ago but the man continued to deny it.
Some time went by as Loaine was close to finishing her article, when the sound of a car door slamming caught her attention. Loaine stood up from her seat and walked over to the winded, drawing the curtains back to look at the source of the noise. A black car sat in the driveway next to her's, its occupant already at the door. Loaine heard Lilian answer and greet the newest person.
Loaine quietly made her way towards the stairs, hearing Lilian and a familiar voice conversate. Loaine went to walk around the wall that lead to the end of the hallway, when a tall figure stepped in front of her, Loaine finally realizing the voices had stopped talking. Loaine looked up and gasped at the person in front of her.
"Hello Loaine." She felt her eyes water, having missed that voice for so long. She jumped and he caught her in his arms, both of them going all the way around her small waist. She squeezed him around the neck as a hug and snuggled into his shoulder.
"Clance," she breathed. He hugged her tighter in response and Loaine felt a happy tear roll down her cheek. "Gosh I've missed you." He chuckled, the sound vibrating against her, and Loaine smiled. Releasing him, Clance set Loaine back on the floor.
