~• Loaine Lorain •~Three months to get ready, too long to prepare. She stood nervously inside the house, her hands rubbing her now blown up stomach for a slight reassurance. The beautiful white wedding dress had been altered to fit her big belly, the dress short and simple just as she had wanted. It stopped just a bit below her knees, the dress slightly vintage in her eyes. Lilian had helped her pick out the short heeled heels, seeing as she was pregnant, and the white closed toed shoes were pointed in the front.
Her hair was up in a cute but simple upduo, curls hanging on the sides of her face to add a messy look. A flower crown held her viel in place on top of her head, the yellow and pink flowers fitting nicely with the outdoors wedding. The vast area of grass had been decorated perfectly to fit with the woodsy theme, the flowers and bright colors beautiful. The front door opened and Loaine stared wide eyed as her father came over to her.
"Hey little cadet." She smiled, taking his arm.
"Hi Daddy." He smiled at the word, his once black hair now grey. He sighed, looking at her belly with a hidden emotion.
"My little cadet isn't so little anymore." Loaine laughed, rolling her eyes, before leaning over to kiss her father's cheek.
"I'll always be your little cadet, Daddy, its just that now I have a little cadet." Her father scoffed.
"No, raise him how you will. It was a mistake for me to bring my work home and force it into your life. Your mother and I are proud of her Lo, and your sister would be too, if she had been able to make it." Loaine nodded before looking to the door.
"Is it time?" Her father stood up straighter.
"Just about, we're to wait for Lilian." Loaine smiled, her nerves coming back, before looking up at her father.
"I love you Daddy." He looked at her in surprise and she leaned over to kiss his cheek again. "I mean it." He nodded, pressing his lips to her forehead, his greying moustache tickling her slightly.
"I love you too bear," he whispered before pulling away just as Lilian opened the door. Loaine smiled at Lilian, the smile bigger after hearing her childhood nickname, and Lilian beamed at her.
"Oh, Loaine! You look beautiful! A true beauty," Lilian cooed, her eyes starting to water. Loaine laughed as Lilian dabbed at the corners of her eyes. "Okay, its time." Loaine nodded as Lilian left, leaving the white door open wide. Loaine took a deep breath and her father looked at her.
"Ready?" Loaine nodded shortly and continued to breathe as her father led her outside. There was a long white runway leading to the vast area of grass on the side of the Kurt house. Sophia smiled up at Loaine who beamed down at her in return.
"You look pretty Ms. Lanie." Loaine laughed as she reached out with her free hand to run it through the little girl's blonde hair.
"Thank you Sophia, but you look lovelier with your pretty dress. Do you remember what to do sweetie?" She nodded quickly, running up in front of Loaine with the basket of flower pedals. Will nodded at Loaine with a smile, the pillow with the two rings clutch between his hands. He walked after Sophia as the music began to play. Loaine took deep breaths to calm her erratic heart.
Her father began to walk, slightly dragging her towards the alter, her heart still beating wildly against her chest. They turned the corner and Loaine saw the few people she had invited along with familiar faces and some she didn't recognize, the people Clance invited. Charlie winked at her to which she rolled her eyes, Mrs. Lemair blew her nose dramatically, and her mother beamed at her as she wiped away tears. But none of them mattered as her eyes landed on her destination, his blue eyes smiling at her in reassurance.
