Nausea had woken me up earlier than expected that morning and staying in bed, under the warm duvet and trying to sleep, wasn't an option. Sleeping hadn't yet become difficult because I was able to use the pillows in such a way that I was comfortable even with my ever-growing belly, but when nausea hit, falling back to sleep was difficult and often impossible. The baby was still too small to move and kick, but it was only a matter of five or six weeks and I could already feel him or her moving.
The more the days passed and the more my belly grew, I felt more and more pregnant but to really process it would have taken me more time. Probably just having my baby in my arms would have allowed me to realize that I had become a parent.
I got dressed and immediately went out to see one of the natural masterpieces that the world offered us every day of the year. When I was little, my mum and I had our own traditions like cooking biscuits on Sundays, or making soup with fish, which I loved so much every first day of the month.
I stopped by the hostel bar to get a cup of hot tea and immediately headed towards the elevator. I went up to the top floor and headed towards the door where it was written "toit". Upon opening the door I found myself faced with a magic view. A palette of colors that presented a breathtaking sight right in front of my eyes. The trees, the bushes and the mountains' lines were partly hidden by the snow. Snow covered the whole wonderful country in which we had ended up. I had visited many French towns and cities, but never had I visited such a beautiful place. Having a rich father had given me the opportunity to go to Paris at the age of three, then to Provence, Nice, Menton, Strasbourg, Marseille and finally, the last trip took me to Toulouse. I had also visited the most remote villages in France. Perhaps it was no longer so surprising that I could speak French so fluently. Maybe this was the only thing I owed my father: having put up the money to allow me to travel and learn a new language."So, as if catapulted into another dimension, I find myself faced with the spectacle of dawn, with its intrigues, its scents, its immensities that seem to never end." I looked at him without saying anything, completely fascinated by his words. He had appeared suddenly, I hadn't heard him and he had caught me unprepared. "Strong sensations that we must try to capture." He concluded with even more beautiful words that were accompanied by the strong and fast beating of my heart.
"Hey." I was speechless, suddenly in love with his poetic side.
"Hey." He smiled. "I thought I was the only one who wanted to see the sunrise, but when I saw that you weren't in the room I thought you couldn't be anywhere but here." He smiled even more than before, taking a sip of the hot tea he was also drinking."I love the dawn."
"Me too," he said, "maybe more than the sunset.""How did you sleep last night?"
"Good," he replied, taking another sip of his tea with a chocolate biscuit I hadn't seen before, "although Sonny always snores too much." He laughed sweetly.
"It must be nice," I wryly said, listening to the sound of his laughter as if it were my favorite sound, probably it was.
"Do you want some cookies?"
