CHAPTER 54
XAVIER QUINN
I had a bluetooth in my ear and Benjamin had one. I waited for him in the car as he went to talk to Gd. Well it's not only me who waited, there were detectives too.
After Viviana was so badly injured the hospital called for the station. So I reopened the case of Nathan's murder. Well killing is not an option to me or both would've been dead by now.
At first the detectives were denying then again money can buy everyone and the case was reopened. When they went to Lucas's apartment to enquire about it he wasn't there.
“How is it possible that he isn't there?” I spoke. There was a chief detective with me in the car.
“Mr Quinn, we searched every corner of the house but he wasn't anywhere.”
“I locked him myself in that house and it's 20th floor, there's no way out.”
“There is Mr. Quinn. We found a secret way to the 17th floor, I think he escaped from there.”
“Christ! Not again.” I hit the steering wheel in frustration.
“Please calm down Mr. Quinn, we are trying our level best to find him.” The detective named James Kennedy tried to console me.
“What if he tries to hurt her again? What then?”
“I understand and for that reason we have increased the security in the hospital.”
I nodded “Let's end this real quick. I am shit scared about Viviana.”
“Yes.” He checked with Benjamin once again “Mr. Knight, can you hear me?”
“Yes, I’m on it.”
I waited, focusing on the situation. We could see the video too. As he entered the study, Gd sat on the chair with his back resting against it in a king-like manner.
“Begin.” I said through the bluetooth.
“What the fuck is this Thomas!? Lucas literally killed my Viviana!” He shouted at Gd. My hands automatically went to the pendant in my neck. Unknowingly I started playing with the ring in it. This is now or never. If he fails in getting the confession today then I don’t think we are ever getting him.
“Do not yell at me.” Gd replied, completely annoyed with the sudden outburst.
“Your man almost killed my daughter.”
“Your daughter? Viviana?”
“Yes. He almost killed his own brother’s daughter!”
“Where is Xavier?” Gd questioned.
“At the hospital. I am coming from the hospital, seeing her. She isn’t responding to any treatment. The doctor says if she doesn’t wake up in 72 hours, we have to accept her death.”
Gd looked surprised “Where is Lucas?”
“Tell him the truth.” Detective Kennedy ordered.
“No. If you tell him the truth he might doubt you. Tell him what I asked you to.” I ordered.
“What if Lucas had told him what happened between you guys?”
“He hasn’t because Gd looks pretty surprised after listening to the news of Viviana. Clearly he hasn’t spoken to Lucas.”
“He went to Xavier’s apartment to kill him but when he didn’t find Xavier, he… he… my… my daughter-” I rolled my eyes, what an actor you are Benjamin Knight. He started crying.
