Chapter 57: I Stopped Loving you
I forgot how much fun Garrett was. After he moved I never saw him we tried to stay in touch but eventually lost touch. I never realized how much I missed his goofy jokes and smile. And Alexandria safe zone. We have let out a breath we have all been holding in. We are starting to make it a home, or at least Garrett is. His enjoying it and letting his true self shine threw all the darkness, and right now that's exactly what I need.
"Remember, that time." I stopped and grabbed my stomach laying back laughing so hard.
"Finish your story JD." Ron said laughing also.
"Okay, okay." I said sitting up and looking at Ron than Garrett before bursting back into laughter.
Which caused them to laugh harder. After what felt like hours of laughing. I finally calmed myself down.
"That time we made mud pies and I handed you mine, and you ate it." I said laughing again.
Garrett's face brightened as the memory came back
"Mud was disgusting."
"You where so stupid." I mumbled.
"Says the one you got her tongue stuck to the flag pole."
"You what?!" Ron laughed.
"You know when it's really cold and you stick your tongue to metal it works. Don't do it. It hurts." I said.
Ron laughed louder.
When our laughing calmed down I looked down at the scattered cards we had attempted to make it ran with.
"Where is everyone?" I asked looking out the window no one has came in here since I have.
"They all went to some meeting." Ron said.
I nodded already knowing what for. The incident yesterday.
"Have you guys noticed Abby?" I asked my curiosity getting the best of me.
"You mean how she goes over the walls like every day?" Garrett said.
I nodded.
"She said she likes nature and that it's too weird for her to stay in a neighborhood like this." Garrett said.
"That's stupid she never came off as the nature lover type. She whined all day about the heat." I said.
He nodded.
"Dustin goes over with her too." Ron spoke up.
"He told me that he likes her, but they don't seem like they would fit together."
Ron nodded.
"They do not. She's super energetic and happy all the time and Dustin is kind of up tight." Ron said.
I chuckled.
"Ya he comes off that way."
"I think they would be a good couple, I mean Beth was like that too. And they where a cute couple." Garrett spoke up.
"Ya, but Beth doesn't remember." I said more to myself than to Garrett.
"Ya she's suppose to be staying at my house cus she hates your group or something but she's never there." Ron said.
That made me look at him. Why where so many people disappearing? Where were they all going?
"That's weird." I responded.
"Hey um, JD. We should go. Ah, take a walk and clear something's up. Garrett said looking hesitant.
"Ya okay." I said getting up. "I'll see you tomorrow." I said to Ron and waved to him as we separated.
