Chapter 27: Secret

"So you like 'me both?" He asked.

"Yes, well no. I like Garrett more."

"Well then go tell him."

I got up and hugged hurrying into the prison to find Garrett. He was in our cell on his bed tossing a bounce ball in the air. I put my hair behind my ears and took a deep breath.

"Hey."

He looked up then back down not saying a word.

"Listen I'm sorry, I guess I should of know you meant it." I said looking at him to respond. He didn't.

I sighed.

"Garrett, I'm sorry we were drunk I didn't think you really said it I thought you only said it cause you were drunk, but I know now that you really meant it." I stood in the middle of the cell waiting for a answer. Nothing.

"Fine give me the silent treatment, but when we had that fight you never let me finish." I said and walked out to Daryl's cell.

Garrett yelled my name but I didn't stop. I climbed into the top bunk and fell asleep. Falling into a deep sleep that I never wanted to wake up from.

I woke up and rubbed my eyes. I yawned and jumped down. Daryl was gone. I walked over to the mirror and just pulled my hair back cause I was to lazy to brush it I would do that later. I walked to Nikki's and Beth's cell. They were up laughing.

"Hey what you guys laughing about?" I asked.

"Beth was telling me a story when she almost set her hair on fire." Nikki said calming down her laughter.

I smiled.

"You ok?" Beth asked.

"Ya I'm fine." I said.

"No your not." Nikki said.

"It's nothing, it's really stupid. Not something I should be worrying about in a apocalypse." I said and walked out.

I heard two sets of footsteps coming after me and soon Beth and Nikki were at the side of me.

"Is it Garrett?" Beth asked.

"Is it Carl?" Nikki asked.

I nodded trying not to cry.

"Carl heard me say I was pretending." I said.

"Well he was gonna figure out anyway right." Beth said opening the door.

"No cause I was lie, I really like them both." I said.

Nikki and Beth smiled.

"Stop it you two." I said nudging them both.

"So you forgive Carl?" Nikki said.

"Some what?" I said.

"Good, but I think you need a break and hang out with us today." Beth said.

"Ya we will avoid Carl and Garrett." Nikki added as we grabbed some fruit and started walking who knows where.

"Well I haven't seen them anyway." I said biting into my apple.

"See don't even think about them, let's go see what those kids are doing." Beth said dragging me down the hill.

"Hey Lizzy and Mika." I said.

They came over and hugged me.

"Josie!"
