I was so afraid of losing you,
Even though I knew, you never belonged to me.
Whenever I stared into your eyes, time would stop,
But for you, it was just another moment.
I waited eagerly for you to accept me,
To love me in return.
You broke me, made me weak,
And I allowed it to happen.
I never loved myself enough,
To think of myself before you.
I admit, I am better off moving on,
You are just a lesson, a temporary stop in my life.
But knowing doesn't change my feelings,
My emotions for you remain.
I know I need to separate myself from you,
To heal, but this weak heart won’t let me.
So, I'll wait here under this tree,
Until I can't see your shadows anymore.
