Silent heros

Today, I read of a child, just seven,
Who lost his father, his mom soon to heaven.
Deciding not to dwell in sorrow's deep pit,
He gave rubber ducks to strangers , bringing smiles bit by bit.

Sometimes those who’ve known grief’s darkest days,
Try hardest to bring light in others’ life.
The most broken souls, like glue, do mend,
Healing hearts, people, and relationships, they tend.

Life’s a war for those who've faced such hardship ,
With every reason to be bitter in life.
Yet they choose to be heroes, spreading their light,
Turning darkness to day, and wrongs to right.

If you see someone striving to make others smile,
Pause for a moment, sit with them a while.
Ask how they're doing, how their day has been,
Assure them of comfort, be their rock.

Sit with them in silence, until they find,
A piece of peace, a quiet mind.
For sometimes, a hero also needs someone to save them.
