The haunted house

Please, don’t leave me alone. It’s midnight again , and every light in this house has burned out. Darkness fills each room like a summer forest at night, and the cold bites as sharply as a mountaintop cave in winter. Shadows of my past lovers and friends still linger here—I see them sipping tea from their favorite cups , I hear her cooking  in the kitchen, where we used to dance to Taylor Swift. Down in the basement, there’s a child hiding from his demons; I hear him cry some nights . Strangers wander in, daring each other to stay, and travelers seek shelter here until they sense the secrets this house holds.

This place has been haunted far too long. I’ve been here as long as I can remember, and still, I’m not used to it.
Dear, hold my hand until the sun rises .
