One week later
Tanya rushed to her closet and picked her sling bag. After checking the contents, she let out a relieved sigh.
"I won't leave that man today. Poor Mumtaz, how did she manage everything!" Shaking her head, she moved to her bedroom and glanced at herself in the mirror.
Tonight was the masquerade party, and Tanya had chosen a simple off-shoulder black prom dress with a slit. It accentuated her hourglass figure beautifully. She completed her look with a golden butterfly chain and pointed silver heels.
Just then, her phone vibrated. She opened her sling bag and took it out.
"Hey Tanya, are you ready?"
"Yes, Amar," she replied, locking her door.
"Ok. I'm waiting for you in front of your house." He said, and she ran towards the entrance.
Taking deep breaths, she opened the door, and Amar looked at her with his mouth wide open.
"I look fine, right?" she asked nervously.
"You look sexy," Amar gushed. Tanya felt uncomfortable.
"Ahem... let's go." She broke his hunger stare on her body.
Amar nodded and opened the car door for her. She thanked him and hopped inside.
"Today, you can't escape from my clutches, Tanya," he smirked, thinking of his plan.
Tanya felt nervous as she entered the ballroom. The whole area was crowded. From royal dignitaries to many highly important personalities, everyone was present.
"Hey, relax," Amar whispered in her ear.
"Amar, I came here only to see that man. And if anyone asks about me, what will you say?" she asked.
"I'll say that you are my date," he replied simply. Tanya looked at him in disbelief.
"Amar, are you in your senses? Tell them something else," she said adamantly.
"Tanya, no need to worry. We'll be wearing masks. No one will recognize you."
"But..."
"No buts or ifs. Let's go in." He grabbed her hand and led her inside.
They reached the area where masks were kept. Tanya was awestruck by each one. She selected a pretty masquerade mask and wore it.
"Wow, you look amazing," Amar complimented.
"Thank you," she chirped.
Amar took her to a private area as she felt awkward. He told her to have something from the buffet and be comfortable. Tanya took a small bun and started eating. She choked when she saw Zafar entering with a blonde beside him.
"This man won't ever change. That means I need to teach him another lesson along with that man," she murmured, grinding the food loudly.
"Welcome, bhai," Amar greeted. Zafar nodded and turned to the girl.
"Rachael, you go now. I'll see you later," he said.
"But I want to be with you," the girl whined, pouting her lips.
"After this party, you are all mine, sweetheart." He kissed her cheek. The girl blushed and ran away. Viewing this, Amar felt sad thinking about Mumtaz.
"Are you alone, Amar?" Zafar asked.
"No. I have a date. I'll bring her right now." Saying this, he ran to the place where Tanya was sitting.
