Attorney

As crazy as it sounds, I attended law school and completed my missions simultaneously. I kept myself busy and focused on my goals, refusing to let anything distract me. I didn't allow fleeting memories of the past to enter my mind during that time; I remained entirely focused on my objectives.

That became my life for the past six years. Now, I'm almost graduated from law school and have become an expert in the skills that agents possess.

Umopo ako sa gilid ni Attorney Lark habang binabasa ang verdict ng isang criminal. I stared at him as he coldly stared and waited for the verdict.

He was incredibly intelligent and intimidating when speaking in front of others. If I were the criminal, I'd be terrified, practically shaking in my shoes at the sight of attorney Lark's menacing aura.

"Erick Torres, the court has found you guilty of attempted murder and sentenced you to twenty years of imprisonment without the possibility of parole."

Pumalakpak ang mga tao sa likod namin at umiyak ang pamilya ng mga biktima. I stared at the attorney, admiring how proud he looked after winning yet another case. His face beamed with satisfaction as he stood up, making his way to the back of the courtroom to shake hands with the grateful family.

"Thank you attorney...maraming salamat po." The mom cried in attorneys arms.

I stood up as well and joined them, shaking hands with the relieved family. As an intern under Attorney Lark, I've had the privilege of witnessing his brilliance firsthand. My grandfather pulled some strings to secure this opportunity for me under his son. I've been with Attorney Lark for twelve cases now, all of which he has won.

"Court dismissed!" The judge tapped his gavel on the bench, and everyone began to file out of the courtroom.

Sabay kaming lumabas ni Attorney. Lahat ng napapadaan ay nakatitig sa kanya. Hindi lang matangkad, gwapo rin si Attorney. He looked incredibly powerful and professional in his suit, carrying his briefcase with confidence. With his impeccable reputation and a record of zero losses in court, he is undoubtedly a well-known and highly respected lawyer.

He stopped when we reached the top of the stairs and undid the button of his suit.

"May pupuntahan ka ba pagkatapos nito?"

Tumango ako.

"Sa HQ, the mission is starting at two."

"You do realize you can opt out of these missions now. You're a well-trained agent."

Bumaba kami ng hagdan.

"Gusto ko po kasing mas masanay sa mga ganitong misyon at para handang handa ako pag dumating na ang panahon ng totoo misyon ko."

He heavy sighed.

"I can't change a mind set on being so determined."

Pinatunog niya ang kanyang kotsye nagtungo siya roon. He opened his car door, paused for a moment, then turned to face me, slipping on his sunglasses with a casual flick of his hand.

"Dad wants us to join him for dinner later. Make sure you're not late."

Sumaludo ako. Pumasok na siya ng tuluyan at nawala sa aking paningin.
