Sitting in her dark cell, Alyssa could barely believe what was happening. Just a few days ago she was with her family on Dragonstone and now she was sitting in a blackcell. She didn't know how much time had passed and she had barely seen any guards walk past her cell.

After many hours in captivity, one of the few guards stopped by her to collect her.

"Come with me, princess." He ordered not looking her in the eye.

Alyssa got up confused, "Where are you taking me?" She questioned. She was desperate to get out of the dirty cell.

"The Dowager Queen wants to see you now." The guard said curtly.

He grabbed her arm and led her out, walking towards the throne room.

As soon as they entered she gasped, Aegon of all people was seated on the throne. Her grandfather's throne which should now be her mother's. Beside him was his mother and Aemond.

"Aegon, what is the meaning of this?!" She shouted walking towards him.

"Guards!" Alicent called and at once the same guard who had collected her grabbed her arm to hold her in place.

She tried but could not break free from the guards and noticed Alicent walking up towards her.

"Alyssa, don't make this harder than it has to be. All we want is for you to show your support for Aegon, the rightful king. Then you will be free to go back to Dragonstone."

"My mother is the heir, not him. Besides, if you planing on using me to get to my parents then you are mistaken. My mother will never give up her birth right for him." She replied coldly, trying to shake the guard's arm off her.

Alicent persevered, "Blood needs not be spilt over this, we will grant you your freedom to do as you please and the realm will go on in peace."

Alyssa shook her head remembering the blood covering the small council table, "But it seems blood has already been spilt over the matter, all thanks to your family."

"Traitors must be dealt with appropriately, Alyssa. I will give you a few more days to prove your loyalty."

"Or what?" Alyssa asked as Alicent turned her back walking out of the room.

Giving up Alyssa looked to Aemond and Aegon but Aemond only shrugged and followed his mother out. Aegon however got off the throne and made his way over to Alyssa.

He held his hand out and brushed it agains her face, "How are you? Did they treat you okay in the cells?" He asked looking concerned.

Alyssa could not believe what she was hearing, "I was in the blackcells, Aegon, like a criminal. How do you think it was? And it's your fault I was there. What happened to having no desire for the crown?" She asked, her annoyance slipping through.

Aegon sighed avoiding eye contact, "I am sorry about that, I tried to get you out but mother would not listen. You'd think as king I'd have more power." He laughed but upon noticing Alyssa's frown he stated, "You helped me once, so I will help you too, all you have to do is bend the knee and you heard mother, you will be free to do as you please."

Alyssa shook her head, "You're a drunken fool, Aegon." She half yelled, "Why should my mother have to give up her birth right for you? And do you think your mother —"

Aegon quickly put his hand up covering her mouth so she would not be heard

"Shhh, she will hear you." He whispered slowly lowering his hand.

She gave him an annoyed look, but he continued, "Just pretend to bend the knee and then I will get you back to Dragonstone. All you have to do is act a little. Then no one will have an excuse to hurt you."

Alyssa thought about this for a moment, what options did she really have? "But I am not marrying Aemond, or whatever your mother was saying before" She trailed off blushing.

Aegon laughed, "Don't worry, that's not going to happen. All you havre to do is go along with this until you can escape".

Alyssa nodded, prepared for the task ahead of her, "Okay, I can do it."

Aegon patted her on the back, "See I told you I would help you, princess".

"It's about time, Aegon." She stated turning around to leave.

Before she could exit, Aegon called out "Don't miss my coronation, Alyssa" with a grin.

"I wouldn't dream of missing it" She replied sarcastically without turning around.

The time for Aegon's coronation had finally arrived and two guards came to escort Alyssa. Fearing that she would try to escape they were holding one of her arms each and when they arrived she was swiftly pushed up to stand next to Helaena and Aemond. She couldn't imagine what her family would think if they heard she was up there next to their enemies. Her mother would be so disappointed but she would surely understand that this was the only way to get out safely. Alyssa listened attentively as Cole and Otto spoke and then watched Aegon's entrance with such intrigue. She had never seen him so captivated by the small folk.

She was as shocked as anyone when Rhaenys burst through the floor on her dragon Meleys. She felt Aemond put his arm in front of her to shield her as she stood there shaking. She noted Rhaenys looking around at each of them and finally noticing her. What confusion it must be for her seeing her granddaughter there amongst the Greens. Suddenly Meleys opened her mouth about to breathe fire but Rhaenys turned her suddenly and exited killing hundreds of small folk in the process. Alyssa did not know what she was planning and what stopped her but she somehow thought it may have been her own presence there. Despite the rumours about her parentage, Rhaenys had always treated her as a granddaughter and would never maim her. Nonetheless the coronation was cut short and they left running to get to safety. Alyssa wondered why Aemond put his arm out to protect her, they had never been close and if anything he always seemed frustrated by her presence. Maybe it had something to do with the marriage that Alicent wanted to orchestrate, little did she know that would never happen.
