As soon as Alyssa opened the door to her chambers she fell onto her bed with her arms out. What salacious rumours would come of her night out with Aegon? Would Aemond tell anyone? After all, there had been plans to wed the two of them. Had Alicent forgotten about this? Alyssa had no desire to be a political hostage so better she did what she wanted rather than tip toeing around the Hightowers.

Most of all, Alyssa felt ashamed of herself. How could she let him get to her like that? But there was no point fussing over it, the deed was done and would surely be making its way around the castle by morning. She knew Aegon was depraved and lacked morality, but to take his own brother of ten and three to a whorehouse? Just when she thought she knew him he unravelled layers of himself that she wished he had just kept hidden. But she could not get the image of the middle aged madam that Aemond was wish out of her mind. She had to be older than forty. Why would Aegon do that to his own brother? Then again, reflecting upon the Alicent's children it was clearly that none of them were close. Aegon and Helaena were wed against their will and seemed to not be able to understand each other. Whereas Aemond and Helaena seemed to get on slightly better but even still, none of them could communicate properly. Daeron had not been present in King's Landing for years and the other three were constantly stuck under Alicent and Otto's influence. Alyssa felt especially grateful for her siblings, they may have been younger than her and annoying at times, but they were always there for her. She couldn't imagine growing up amongst the Hightowers.

When morning came she found that she had barely slept the previous night, all she had done was tossed and turned replaying the night's events over in her mind. Unsatisfied and restless, she decided to get up and make her way to breakfast early. That way she would hopefully avoid Aegon and Aemond. When she finally reached the breakfast hall, she instantly regretting entering. Alicent was alone seated at the head of the table and had already noticed her.

"Good morrow, Princess" she exclaimed looking up.

Alyssa bowed, "Your Grace." She made her way quickly to the table and decided that she would be eating as fast as humanly possible today. As she started to add to her plate, Alicent looked up at her and broke the silence.

"You're up early today, is there a reason for that?"

Alyssa shook her head, "I could not find sleep, my Queen".

Alicent nodded, "Well you're not the only one, Aemond has just left for Storm's End".

Alyssa looked up at this, "Already?" She questioned perplexed. Mere hours ago he was at the pillow house and now he was taking up his princely duties all of a sudden.

"Yes, we must make haste if we wish to win this war, Alyssa."

Alyssa nodded gritting her teeth. "The war of the usurper" She thought to herself. Her days for fighting were over though, she knew that she had to play her part in order to grant herself freedom. Aegon would be no use at helping her escape so she would just have to figure something out herself. All of the ravens had been getting intercepted and an increased number of guards haunted the keep. How was she meant to get Silverwing and fly to Dragonstone?

Some time passed and Alyssa thought she was finally safe to leave the dreaded table. As she opened the door to leave, she stopped startled. Aegon was in front of her entering at that very instant. Alyssa's eyes widened worried he would say something incriminating about the previous night. She turned her head around quickly to look at Alicent so he would see her. Aegon slowly nodded understanding her and walked to the table. Alyssa quickly shut the door and left. She would have to talk to him at some stage but for now she wanted silence. Something the Keep could not provide amongst all the shuffle and noise.

Alyssa made her way to Helaena's chambers. It suddenly struck her as she was walking there. She froze in the hallway. How could she lay with Helaena's husband? How could she do that to her? Alyssa felt nauseous all of a sudden. Aegon was certainly no husband to her but she did not deserve this. How could she have been so blind? And what of their children together?

Feeling guilty she doubted going to see Helaena and her children but ended up in front of her chambers. She knocked twice on the door.

"Come." Said the quiet voice on the other side of the door.

Alyssa opened the door to find Jaehaera and Jaehaerys sitting on the floor playing with their toys as their mother sewed some insects onto a cloth.

"Hel, how are you?" Alyssa questioned, sitting down beside her on the cold stone floor.

Helaena didn't look up but instead remained focused on her stitching. "The children have grown restless, they can smell the war coming". She stated glancing up at her children.

Alyssa sat perplexed, "I think you're right, Hel. But we are safe here in the Keep." She tried to reassure her.

"That's what Aegon says." Helaena responded coldly threading her needle in and out of the cloth.

Alyssa froze for a second, the guilt rushing to her. "Well, let's say he is right on this one thing".

As if summoned from hearing his own name, Aegon barged in without knocking. "What is that I hear? You think I am right, Alyssa?" He gushed walking over to them.

"What do you want here?" Helaena questioned looking up at him.

"I wish to speak with the princess" He responded looking at Alyssa.

Alyssa stood up at once, wishing to get out of the room. Aegon of all people had given her an excuse. Even if it meant that she would have to speak to him.

"Bye, Hel." She stated already making her way out as Aegon followed her.

Once they were out of earshot down the corridor she turned back at Aegon and coldly asked, "What do you want?" With her hands on her hips she tried to appear threatening but he just laughed.

"I only wish to continue what we started, Princess".

Alyssa shook her head, "You have a wife and children." She stated.

Almost as quickly Aegon rebutted her, "And that didn't seem to be an issue to you yesterday".

"I can't do it, Aegon. I thought you had changed but clearly not". She turned on her heel making her way down the corridor, leaving him stood there.

Aegon stood for a second thinking, "I can change things". He called out to her. "I can make things right between us".

Alyssa turned around shrugging, "If I give you one last chance, you promise that you will get me out of here?" She was out of options and would need outside help to escape. If that meant entertaining Aegon then she would do it.

He stood solemnly and nodded, "I will get you out of here and back to Dragonstone".

Alyssa nodded slowly. For once he seemed genuine. She knew he could never be fully trusted but just this once she would try. Little did she know what Aemond was during at that very second.
